Fixed camera and tank controls doesn't make a good horror game, what actually makes a good horror game is the atmosphere. Thinking your game is scary just for add shitty camera and shitty controls only makes a shitty game.

i think ridge racer(the entire series) sucks and is vastly overrated, the 90s titles handle like a turd and dont have an understanding on why driving cars is fun in the first place(which is to say dynamicism, something these games lack) and in my eyes are easily overshadowed by sega's 90s arcade racing games which have actually aged well due to how well they drive(especially sega rally). the 2000s titles are simply boring to me with the now easy and understandable driving(unlike previously where for the life of me i cant get a consistent drift to work and it feels so weird and on rails) feeling as flat as before but now easier coupled with very boring racing as this series never invested its time in developing actually challenging ai of any sort. i also feel that the presentation(outside of the 1st game) is lame but i feel like thats just because i dont like these games in the first place

The cars in Sega Rally control like bars of soap. I mean, it could be I just suck at SR (that's more than likely), but I found Ridge Racer to be more more fun. I would describe the handling in RR to be like controlling a slot car (when drifting). You can be facing the complete opposite direction and still make the turn flawlessly because you're on auto-pilot while drifting. I though it was weird at first, but I ended up having a lot of fun with it after a while.

what about first person or third person fixed directly behind the player and tank controls?

Wrong, tank controls are actually bad.

No, you just don't get the intent behind it.

This was also a way to make your character having the same direction regardless of the camera angle.

Turning RE into a behind the shoulder third person game also broke some of the enemies and made some less about horror.

I can't stand the ATB system, I basically can't enjoy any games that use it, I thought I just didn't enjoy Final Fantasy until I played and loved Final Fantasy X. I much rather a traditional turn based system like the one used in Dragon Quest.

I really dislike Sony's modern direction.

As someone who loved and played the Playstation since the beginning, I couldn't care less to play any of their modern games other the Astrobot, which is a Mario style 3D platformer.

They have ruined Insomniac, Sucker Punch and Naughty Dog. The closure of Japan Studios is unforgiveable.

And on the subject of Naughty Dog, none of games after Jak 3 deserve to be called Naughty Dog games.

Give me Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter over any of that movie game guff.

I really wish Sony wouldn't ignore the awesome IPs it has under it's belt. I would love to see new Ape Escape and Twisted Metal games. When they closed down Sony Japan Studio it was all over, at least we got Astrobot out of that ordeal, that game IS amazing.

And then Code Veronica wasn't limited yet kept it.

Resident Evil since 4 made your character too powerful to the point they had to put more enemies to make it viable.

Tank controls are meant to make you not able to just dodge everything and you get used to it eventually.

Nirvana was a garbage band and Kurt Cobain was a terrible musician. Hole was a better band and Courtney Love was 10x more talented then he was.

Uh no, everything was Bethesda's fault when they released an optional, worthless downloadable pack for horse armors. The people who bought it are not at fault, not in the absolute slightest; not one nano millimetre of fault.

The people that bought MW2 at launch and catapulted the industry into a worldwide phenomena is not at fault; it was infinity Ward that created a game that people wanted to play so bad. They are at fault.

The death of physical media in PC gaming is Valve's fault, not the gamers. Never the gamers.

The gamers are never at fault, ever.
