Hot Take!I dunno if it's correlated to socially inept people (then again it may just be a coincidence) but I feel like some fields are more prone to have bullies (which are probably people who got bullied previously but then again it's hypothetical) that often abuse their power when they get a bit of fame, the art was just the way they got popularity.
I heard that the art field, like the theatre or even acting one, is a cruel place that isn't gentle towards people that cannot stand for themselves.
I often feel like some really talented people just quit because of others when they had a great potential. A big shame if you'd ask.
You described the god complex, and it is often comes from any one who are not used to self reflection and acceptance of critique, and evolution towards working on themselves.
Folks who are spoon fed status (borne in to success), and means / managers and supervisors, are often the biggest perpetrators here. (not including good manages, who work with their staff, rather then run a dictatorship)
The other side of that is the cult of personality, people identifying with their likes and the person they worship / a fan of, and any critique towards that is then seen as a critique on their choice and their identity, as they may not have developed one, and only see the group they are part of as their identity, which has only gotten worse with so called internet and social media culture.
I mean hot take ssssssssss >_>
