Hot takes

I mean famous people acting like they're generous is merely just appearing virtuous. This is the main thing I'm criticising about that. Especially when some of these (internet) celebrities gets outed as being not so good people.

Charity, despite what it's meant to be, is a business like another.

Well, some people could imply that if someone just disagrees with them they're de facto having a "bad mindset" or being a bad person (without telling it directly).

On the Internet (especially in Social Media) there are many who loves that.
if i remember correctly, it was either electronic arts or ubisoft had a few years ago, donated some money to a charity, and announced that they did, and said that they did this to build up enough god will with the consumers and critics. basically trying to do the thing that you can do in fable 1 where you donate money to the temple of avo and change your moral alignment to being ultra good despite all of the horrible things that you did before hand.

On PC, I kind of agree, but these days I do most of my emulation on an Xbox Series X and RetroArch is the name of the game unless it's PS2/Gamecube/Xbox/3DS

I'm starting to realize that most of the loathing is for the PC version of RetroArch ... which is understandable since even I rather use standalone emulators since they run more smoothly ( I mean I *still* use VisualBoyAdvance 1.72 when I need to  )

On Android/iOS as long as it's being run on a flagship phone like an iPhone or Galaxy S series then it really shouldn't be fine !

Users really should take their time to learn how to optimize the settings on RetroArch
I mean it's fun and versatile once it's understood
We can't really subject ourselves to becoming automation complacency or whatever term Technology Connection said on his YouTube channel

Wait ! Did you like do the whole dev mode and all ? :O
I'm planning to buy a refurbished Xbox One sometime this year so I'm curious ! ( Not getting the X or S series since one's too expensive and the other doesn't have a disc slot ... )

I don't particularly like retroarch but I don't dislike it enough to not use it. I only use it for 8 and 16 bit systems though. I've never had much luck with it trying to emulate 32-bit and up. N64 emulation is surprisingly terrible in retroarch and reminds me of what it was like 15 years ago. For older systems though I like the convenience. I've tried other frontends and find them all limited in some way. Retroarch is bloated and confusing but you can do a lot with it and the cores for older systems work well enough.

How does Batocera compare to Retrobat?
They use the same UI and once running are pretty much the same, they are both portable too. Batocera is a bootable drive and can run in pretty much anything even on old directX10 machines but you need a disc just for it. Retrobat can be installed like a normal windows program but it needs directX11 minimum to run

Thanks!

RetroArch is definitely not for everyone. I just use it because it's convenient for playing games on multiple systems and I can just switch to a game from one console to another without closing out of the emulator and scrolling through my PC to look for a different one. Plus, it's not too much of a hassle to play Saturn games on it, at least to me.
Also, RetroAchievements.

What are your controversial opinions on Anime and Manga? it can be any subject like your unpopular opinions on the industry in general, or an anime or manga or a franchise in general. I want to known your spicy takes. Anyway, my hot take is that Post-Timeskip One Piece Fucking Sucks.

I'm not a big fan of the Dragon Ball series. I like the Movies [Except Evolution] but i'm not huge into the show by any means. [I'm probably gonna get my IP leaked for this]

Every Shounen Jump Anime or Manga made post 1999 sucks ass.
Evangelion isn't a subversion just because it was the first Mecha anime you watched.
Miyazaki is right about Modern Anime.
Ufotable are the most overrated anime studio right now, Trigger, Shaft, Madhouse, Bones and Science Saru are still miles ahead of them.

The entire industry/landscape seems to be filled with so much easy, safe, bland wish-fulfilment garbage nowadays, which is so insanely uninteresting that it makes me fall asleep on the spot.

I know it's a stereotype, but the whole "I was a loser IRL but I got transported into another world and now I'm the best apparently" thing is just awful.
I get that the world is pretty bleak, but these escapism-fueled stories are derivative and just straight up not fun, but it sells because people relate to the misunderstood loser main characters. It's like Coldsteel the Hedgehog levels of dumb.

I also really hate how almost every single fantasy world in contemporary anime has this weird video game-inspired logic to everything. It's fun occasionally but nowadays it just feels like an easy excuse to not have to explain your world. It's especially common in isekai, which I assume is because it's mostly written by nerds whose entire frame of reference are video games.

My Hero Academia derailed completely by Season 4 and then crawled to the finish line.

Dragon Ball went downhill when Raditz showed up. It was better as a whimsical group adventure series than as an endless battle and level-up grind for 2-3 characters.

Dragonball is the best shonen story BECAUSE Toriyama winged so much of it (especially if you consider that he still was pretty heavily controlled by editors for much of the entire thing, which isn't necessarily a bad thing). That's the reason it feels so playful and varied, and why its simplicity never feels "dumb" as much as honest, and why the "serious" moments feel all the more impactful.

Not saying there aren't other great and well-made stories, but DB is still the GOAT in its demographic regardless, to me.

Yes that's what i meant when i said he was right.
Sorry, I just got pedantic and wanted to add the reasoning in case people were unaware of the whole meme-quote comes from :)
