Yeah there are games that have a good dodge system and / or parry mechanics because there is a downside for it. In a lot of 3D games you have room to dodge and a lot of i-frames, in a game like Alien Soldier a bad dodge can lead to death, you really have to consider its range since the screen can be quite full of hitboxes.

Yup, basically when dodging has no invul frames and felt more like a dash. I really liked that in God Eater, the dash was fast and had decent range but no invul frames, gotta learn where the attack lands.

To bad the rest of the mechanics kinda trivialize the combat.

The main issue is that a game being too strict would limit a buyerbase.

Even Dark Souls, the game famous for being hard (well, for a 7th gen era game), still has many ways to make you manage despite the challenge.




Is this a hot take to say that I got nothing against lowering the skill floor as long as the skill ceiling is still high? Easy to handle yet hard to master is a good motto.

I also see that Heroes is the closest to Classic Sonic we've gotten since Adventure (two acts levels, the Chaotix, Metal Sonic back from CD and a colourful art design that ditches realism although SA1 had some Saturn-esque levels as well).

I'm still sad that Neo Metal Sonic didn't get a proper boss fight. He should've been the final boss before you got all 7 Chaos Emeralds...

He looks a bit like one you'd see in the comics.

The Advance series was nice with having a final boss before the Chaos Emeralds like in Sonic 3&K, I'm wondering why they didn't stick to that formula.

The fact that streaming services release entire seasons at once flat out hurts the products they are trying to deliver by eliminating all speculation and doing away with any possible curveballs before they can even be thrown. That's why so many otherwise promising shows get shelved after a season or two... the hype is lost to exhaustion.

perhaps financially disadvantageous but i wouldnt agree that it harms the quality of the product itself. i believe a lot people value the social experience of art too much that it affects their opinion of the artwork in and of itself. the value of art isnt tied to group speculation or shared anticipation but to the work as a creation. i dont think that not being able to talk to your friends about how you cant wait for the next episode makes it worse and in fact whenever i consume anything i like being as esoteric as possible so that its entirely my experience, so i actively try to avoid that anyways. at the very least objectively speaking i think theres merit in having your work provided in its entirety. having it all avaiable allows for deeper engagement with the story as a whole rather than breaking it up and potentially diluting its impact

I don't think that's quite an hot topic... I've heard this opinion a bit everywhere, and it's honestly a good opinion, cause then the people that manage the show get to do more and more. Too bad we live in a society where instant gratification is commodified.

Am I the only one that kinda hates how Meat Canyon does his thumbnails for CreepCast or any other video where he talks about topics? I just get weird vibes from them and they make me kinda go away from the video cause I feel a bit of superficiality and whatnot in it. Maybe I'm just a dumbass saying shit like this but honestly I never liked the guy, but his art? Damn cool. Although a bit overrated.

Neo Metal was just cool as balls!! I mean remember that opening cinematic where he stands atop the Egg Carrier with lightning in the background and his cape flapping in the wind? So.freakin.BADASS!!

Fun story, I remember me and my siblings sharing the Teams between us so I would take Sonic, my brother with take Dark and Chaotix, and our sister would take Rose (she was the youngest so it made sense to give her the short easy stages). And so when we had 100%'ed it all we were like...... where is the final boss?? Because on the Team Select screen it didn't occur to us that the Final Story was located further to the right. I don't remember how we eventually found out, but we collectively had the biggest "DOH"-moment xD

This kind of fruit/vegetable, right? They're called paprika here, but if I switch language to english on wiki I get the 'bell pepper' article.

We get them mostly in red, yellow and green here. The red and yellow ones are very sweet and popular on everything from sandwiches to fried or in stews. I like eating them as-is, or cooked together with the dish that uses them. The green ones are stronger and much more bitter.

Damn, I'm making myself hungry now...

The actual hot take on [especially Japanese] cross-media adaptation is that it doesn't matter if the adaptation changes the original. Many times it is an improvement, while in others it doesn't make things worse.

For an example, I think it was nice adding more characters and cards to Card Captor Sakura in the anime adaption. And there was a major case of "censorship" late in the series,

If someone is getting pushy I'll call it a red flag and if someone thinks that a party gets only fun when drinking gets involved they should reconsider their life choice (or the kind of party they're attending).


Next I'll say that not everything in life needs a mature and dark reinterpretation to feel more adult, some series can still be family friendly while having some depth or implied mature themes (while still being watchable by kids). I feel that some people want something to get dark and more serious to not feel ashamed from loving it as adults.
