Metroid Prime 3 is the best Metroid prime by far, Metroid Prime is in second place and the last one is two. You want reasons? I have them.

*clears throat* CHRONO CROSS IS ACTUALLY A DECENT GAME WITH A DECENT STORY , yea i like lynx and i like how complicated the story gets later like of course it's not as straightforward! You are tampering with time........i will always say chrono cross will be a fun ride if you can get past the initial disappointment that's

A: you aren't playing as crono or any of the CT characters you aren't their son or whatever you are just a random guy wearing a bandana going on a date.

B: the lack of combinations yeah i get it's annoying to not do CYCLONE or ultra meta omega double water sword or flaming sword but the gameplay has some things that make up for the lack of combos being able to attach 3 accessories alone is an improvement over 1 accessory.

C: the complete lack of mentioning the characters from other time periods from CT yeah no mention of frog or ayla or robo i get it's annoying and disappointing.....you do get CC version of these tho

My criticism for Chrono cross is the final boss fight is fighting against yourself to not deal a lot of damage seriously despite the game lack of revive and limiting it to just 2 revive spells (at least on a first playthrough) the game got a little easy at the end i beaten the mighty 7th dragon with ease it's supposed to be insanely powerful but where power :/ i didn't even have any rainbow weapons!

I consider that your like and dislike of the game will vary if you can go through its first part and not lose your marbles, the reason why i don't like replaying the game is because that part feels like a race between a rock and a snail

Halo 4 is the best Halo game ever made, besides ODST.

The Tropico series is the best city builder.

Tingle is the best Zelda character.

Speaking of Spyro: I know that the Japanese release has a different camera angle for the Japanese audience.

Goldeneye 007 on the N64 is not a real game?
You did not get what I meant I did not mean games based on movies but games that are more made out of cutscenes than actual gameplay so a game that feels more like a movie than a actual game.

Ah, movie-like games then.

Point 'n Clicks are still interesting to play.

I think I already said this but if you don't know what someone else is talking about then you should either:
  1. Ask about it
  2. Not say anything
  3. Not pretend that you know about it

Modern fighting games have too many comeback mechanics, rage meter, specials, last round specials, it's bullshit.

Dead or Alive is better than Tekken.

Soul Calibur hasn't been good since 2.

Street Fighter Alpha sucks.

Blazblue Calamity Trigger is the only good Blazblue

Fatal Fury is much better than KoF

Bloody Roar sucks

Killer Instinct sucks

Bushido Blade is one of the best weapon based fighting games

Guilty Gear Xrd and Strive are a disgrace

Vampire Saviour is the only good Darkstalkers

Cyberbots Fullmetal Madness is top tier Capcom

The FGC has permanently destroyed the fighting game genre

You should not be able to disable items in Smash, it's a party game not a fighting game.

Last Bronx sucks

3D Fighting games are better than 2D ones.

I have to agree wit this, at least the N64 one, horrible first impression, the pick up and play aspect is pretty atrocious. sorry fans. (won't get good)
I'd like to play the arcade versions to close my case but I don't think they're easy to emulate.

- In turn-based games, random encounters are more exciting than approaching an enemy on the field.

- Wipeout isn't actually that fun.

- The best Sims game is the GBA one. Same with the best top-down GTA.

As long as it's not a "walk to tiles and there's a battle".

Threat detector like Etrian Odyssey or old School SMT are great too.

Even that's fine with me! You have the small thrill of knowing that hidden calculations are secretly deciding whether to throw you into a battle. It makes each step feel dangerous when you're on low HP/MP.

I haven't played many games like this, but that sounds pretty damn cool. Sorta like the radio crackling in Silent Hill.

Unless the dungeon has puzzles or is a maze so that you end up forgetting where to go if there's no map nor items to repel enemies.

Kinda. There's a circle that is blue then goes slowly to red when you walk more. I wish RPGs had a day/night system for enemy rate and dangerosity.

Any RPG that have a repellent type of item or spell is fine to me if they also offer the reverse to attract more enemies to avoid having to mindlessly walk back and forth.

Agree. Mostly because they're increasingly accompanied by long cutscenes now.
Dead or Alive is better than Tekken.
Varies by game. But depending on era agree.
Soul Calibur hasn't been good since 2.
Strongly agree.
Street Fighter Alpha sucks.
Why?
Fatal Fury is much better than KoF
Disagree. Even only counting the new ones. Obviously it's subjective but KoF has the better movement mechanics. And if you're talking about the whole franchise including the past, Fatal Fury has historically been slower and clunkier than KoF. And that's not even counting silly gimmicks they eventually dropped like jumping into the background.
Bloody Roar sucks
Kinda agree. I don't know if it's a bad game per se or I just never clicked with it.
Killer Instinct sucks
Agree. Combos are a mechanic best used in moderation. Making it the only mechanic in you game is just annoying.
Bushido Blade is one of the best weapon based fighting games
jfc strongly agree. Underrated and underappreciated are adjectives to describe not just these games but their entire gameplay style.
The FGC has permanently destroyed the fighting game genre
The genre is dead? How?
You should not be able to disable items in Smash, it's a party game not a fighting game.
Strong disagree. It's a fighting game as much as any other.
3D Fighting games are better than 2D ones.
Disagree. There are enough examples of good 3d and 2d ones that it's up to the individual game not the subgenre.

I think Smash is a platform fighting game with party elements while still allowing a meta and competition to be made. Melee is quirky thanks to the flaws of the engine but it's still valid as a serious one (same with Project Plus and Ultimate).

Even if Tekken and VF can be technical I cannot legitimately claim that something like Guilty Gear is inherently inferior to every 3D fighters out there.

It's like claiming that 3D platformers are superior to 2D one.

Hot take.

Taking away the nostalgia factor, we've never had it this good in gaming.

We're able to now play almost any game ever made, and often for free too, and they're easily accessible. Before you had to physically go to a store, and it was harder to order games, and you were basically limited to what was available in the stores nearest to you.

If we were younger, we had limited games and had to play them over and over, which was fun at the time, but this was also out of necessity and what we expected then.

If I went back to when I was a kid in the early 90's and someone showed me what we have today, my mind would be absolutely blown and wouldn't even comprehend it for awhile, but once I did I probably wouldn't hesitate to ditch the old consoles, cartridges and CD's and immediately switch over to Steam or a PS5.

At the time, I didn't think like a collector and don't think most of us did, it was about being able to play the game, whether an original or a copy for the Mega Drive or a 'chipped' PSX. All that mattered was being able to play the games.

I'd also ditch the 50kg Sony Trinitron CRT box taking up a square metre in my lounge and switch it for a sleek flat screen monitor which could be picked up with one hand.

And if I want a Mega Drive, Sega Saturn, PSX, PS2 or N64 controller or whichever controller I want, I can use an adapter or modern version and play any game with them on my PC using emulation. And graphically, emulation can make the games look better, and more convenient to play with save-states, translations, hacks and other quality of life improvements.

Looking back, I don't think there would have been any sentimentality involved and I would have just immediately chucked that old stuff out of the way.

Now, I do collect a few retro games, but more for nostalgia of those fun times when I was younger. Holding those games in my hand, going through the manuals and looking at them on my shelf reminds me of a now unique and good time in my life.

But when I look at what we have now, there's no comparison, there's so many games and it's up to us what we want to play, whether retro or modern, we have the choice to play whatever we want.

Nintendo should make more games in the N64 style. I want another Zelda game like OoT and MM.
