Hidden Gems!

No one's gonna take the BoobMX game seriously,

Some obscure but splendid snes jrpg games translated by the team of the legendary (and never forgotten) Gideon Zhi: Hourai High, Dark Half, Dark Law, Front Mission, Gunman's Proof, Holy Umbrella, Hero Chronicle, Hiouden, Live a Live, Madara2, Madou Monogatari , Metal Max Returns, Mystic Ark, Tactis Ogre, SMT series among the majors. Forever grateful.?

A very good article, though FFTA2 is far from hidden or unknown, if you ask me. If anything it surpasses its predecessor by every conceivable metric, and is THE game to play in this particular subseries.

Of course, it's not all good - I personally find the bazaar system questionable - but the fact there is more content, better, more consistent graphics (the ability to rotate the battlefield is a must in an isometric tactical game) and a much less punishing law system elevate this to a must play, if you ask me.

I can only lament that Tactics Ogre didn't get a DS sequel in the same vein, as Knight of Lodis is a game I like more than the original Tactics Ogre, but that's beside the point.

Thanks for the writeup!

Guess I'll need to find some time during winter holidays to replay FFTA2, the only question is: on DS or Steam Deck with cheaty realtime savestates.. ?

For what my humble opinion may be worth, AiO devices are always the right answer. It's just too convenient and customizable to trade off for the authenticity of real hardware, though I know many will disagree. Another point in favor of emulating on the go is that you can apply bugfix patches and the like.

I'm well aware, I just wanted to talk about Tactics A2.

Pretty much, I remember the Bazaar being ass. Aside from that, gameplay wise the game is perfect.

Which ones are these?

I'm not sure if it's hidden or not, but Roller Games from NES is certainly a gem!
One of my best childhood games ever! even after getting hand on later consoles like Sega MegaDrive, I used to play this regularly, it was so fun!
The gameplay is so nice and fluid, but challenging due to being on skate! you will surely slip, and a lot!
It has pretty nice graphic, and it's music is one of bests in whole console.
Levels have good variety and never made me bored! and bosses are fun to fight!
There's also three playable character, each with different abilities...
Screenshots won't do it justice!

Well at least you remember the title of THIS game :p

the luminous arc series if fantastic, the second one is still one of my all time favorite srpgs, and I was just over the moon when spike posted the translation to the third game after waiting for a decade.

And I loved Pokemon Ranger, such an underrated spin-off and one of my favorite games in the pokemon universe. its sad that Mystery Dungeon got so much cult following but everyone just forgot about the ranger games including Nintendo.

To be fair it's hard to do Pokémon Ranger outside of the DS

Plenty of them but the one i've been really getting quite into lately is 7th dragon.
