Game Gear Hey, Let's talk about Sega Game Gear games

GG Aleste 1-3 are so technically impressive and have been in heavy rotation for me lately. The sense of speed and number of sprites with minimal slowdown is unreal for something played on an early '90s handheld.

Also, shoutout to Galaga '91 as another fun shooter that doesn't feel like your ship is slow as molasses (which is my biggest cardinal sin in the genre).

What? They ported shinning force II to the Gamegear? That's insane,

I beat the first game in the Sega Genesis, second one kinda comfused me.

Also if you haven't already play both the Sonic 1 8 bit and Sonic 2 8 bit remakes thar remake the Master System/Game Gear versions of the games.

You can find them here: https://sonic-sms-remake.blogspot.com/

It's not a port of Shining Force 2, there's a trilogy of Shining Force side stories on the Game Gear. The first two got remake as Shining Force CD on the Sega CD (with a new, shorter third chapter), but the third one came out later so it's only on GG. There's a fan translation for it.

Just started playing Game Gear not too long ago and others have mentioned already, GG Aleste 1-3 are an absolute blast. Though I don't think GG Aleste 3 was released before the new collection on Switch but I might be wrong...

i unironically love Ren and Stimpy Quest For The Shaven Yak

It is actually the besr Ren and Stimpy videogame despite being a generic platformer, it even got a Sega Genesis port in Brazil.
