I thought Venture from Overwatch had a super boring design when they were first introduced, and they haven't recieved any good skin ever, but the character's personality is super fun and goofy, and the voice acting is insanely good. One of my favorites in the entire game, and Overwatch is riddled with good voice actors.

They also added this really funny pre-game banter interaction with Genji.
V: "Hey, how does an nonbinary ninja attack their enemies?"
G: "Hmmm, I don't know. What?"
V: "They slash them!"
G: "Hmm, they should try using shurikens as well as the blade."

Still a really boring design though, both aesthetics and gameplay wise.
