Good game, bad port

I think I don't have to explain how awful GTA IV's PC port is, and how they're just killing it more and more with every update lol. Here are some more tho:

SVR 2010 for Iphones- Just. Why. The. Hell. I mean like who in their right mind wanted to port the game onto smartphones when they could barely snap photos omfg I don't know if it can even be considered a port, there was no need to downgrade the game so much and make it totally unrecognizable... The whole gameplay is tap the only button available to hit the opponent, which isn't cool considering that in the original version, played on a ps2, you have more than 10 buttons to press which all do something different (and not counting combinations), and here you just aARRGHH it just looks like a bootleg what can I say.

Guitar Hero 3 for PC - It's just a whooooole lot of work to get it functioning, and even then it has stuff like sync issues, missing visual effects, random fps drops even on powerful machines and I didn't remember it myself but people also mention problems with DRM.

Peter Jackson's King Kong - You may know this, but the first PC version of this game had a really bad DRM software which could brick some PCs. Even bypassing this or playing the other version, the game has a lot of issues, more than not related to performance and the game working like it's trying to overclock itself and not functioning properly most of the time.

The sleeping pills are starting to do their effect so I'm almost dozing off on the keyboard but I'll say some more later i love yal

DOS port of Street Fighter 2 World Warrior

Looks totally fine in screenshots, plays like molasses on the Moon. Hitboxs that are more a suggestion than a functioning feature. Kid me got burned by this.

-Symphony of the Night on Saturn
-Metal Slug on PS1
-Dodonpachi Daioujou Black Label Extra (a hastily put together port for Xbox 360 full of stolen code from the PS2 port)
-Chrono Trigger PC (at least I hear, I haven't played it on Steam)
-Ys IV on PS2
-Persona 3 Portable on Steam (smushed graphics and terrible sound quality in battle unfortunately permeates here)
-AtGames Sonic
-Mega Man & Bass on GBA
-Sonic games on PS2
-Dodonpachi SaiDaiOuJou outside the arcade
-Super Mario 3D All Stars
-Gunstar Super Heroes (I don't care if it's technically a new game, it is practically identical to the original minus bit crushed music and Gunstar Red being gender swapped for some reason)
-TWEWY Final Remix
-the original Asuka 120% Special Burning Fest for Playstation (there's actually two versions of this specific game, the one that has a black dot next to the title is an updated version that the Japanese use to play competitively, while us Westerners prefer LimitOver, a different version released for Sega Saturn, fun fact. V1 vs V2, remember the black dot)

-anything ported to the short-lived Google Stadia
-32X Doom (aka Toilet Doom)
-GTA Advance
-Sonic Genesis
-Dinosaur Planet for Gamecube lmao
why the sad face, Trickybus? Not a fan of the list or disagree with a game, if it's not a problem to ask? Just curious

Shadow of the Beast for Sega Megadrive/Genesis.

When they ported it from the Amiga to SEGA, they managed to somehow increase the game speed by about 1/6th, so everything, from the music, to character movement and enemy projectiles moves ridiculously quickly. It makes avoiding attacks near impossible, and makes what was originally a slow, brooding soundtrack sound like a maniacal off-kilter frenzy. It scared the hell out of me as a kid. ::eek

Oh, I thought of another one: I played Mega Man II on an LG Chocolate in 2007, where the controls were on the keypad? It looked fine but it is about as far away from ideal controls as you could get.

every single port of tales of symphonia after the gamecube release is godawful for limiting the fps to 30
I personally think it's something of a trade. Halving the framerate isn't nice, but it is far from a dealbreaker to me. You get more extras and a better combat camera, so I'm fine with it.

As a corollary, I'll say that I'll take stable 30 FPS over unstable 60 any day of the week. Not saying ToS GC had unstable framerate, but yeah.

Before the remaster, every version of Shadowman that wasn't the original pc version.

Also, buy Shadowman Remastered. Excellent game.

Another thing, the San Andreas iphone port that is the ONLY version of the game on the ps3 store that I WASTED fifteen bucks on, AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO TELL THAT IT WAS THE SHITTY PHONE PORT. FUCK you Rockstar.

Sorry to say, but you might've had a fever dream or a schizophrenic episode, because you can't play games on a piece of chocolate.

Great game in all platforms, but the DS version of Need For Speed: Most Wanted is the worst thing i ever played, the controls is not very responsive, engine sounds of cars are terrible, strange physics and more...

Yeah, I don't think the DS can handle these kinds of games. Sideswiped/Crash King and Mario Kart DS are the only racers on the system that I can remember being enjoyable.

Look how they massacred my boy on DS
I didnt even know there was a ds port of one of the best psp games! :0

Bayonetta on ps3 is my unit of measurement when it comes to bad ports

It runs at like 20fps, it slows down when you hit an enemy, which is not the best for a punishing combo action game where combos are timing based

And Ive never played a game that has to load every time you PRESS PAUSE OR CHANGE INVENTORY TAB OR OPEN THE BESTIARY

Bayonetta is one of my favorite games, I played on PS3 multiple times only for years later to find out that that port was considered the worst one...
The loading times are longer but that doesn't bother me, I like practicing combos in the loading screen and the lack of that in other ports is a bit of a shame. However the button imput, bruh. Years later I tried playing it on a friend's XBox and I couldn't believe how much faster and smoother it felt, I realized that all this time I didn't need to git gud, I was playing with a slight imput delay handicap
