To summarize the past 6+ pages...

If you disagree with me: You are automatically wrong by default, because my opinion is the only valid one to have, and I'm going to write several angry paragraphs calling you every name in the book that doesn't specifically break ToS, but NOT actually address the sum & substance of said disagreement(s), ever! That being said...
I think one of the biggest valid criticisms is the "Game Movie" phenomenon of the past decade. According to a quick Google search, the two "Dad of Boy" games have about ~6 and ~4.5 hours of cutscenes alone (2018 & Ragnarok, accordingly), and I doubt those numbers include the "walking simulator" sections. Whereas the 5 games of the OG Greek series topped out around about 1~2 hours apiece, on average..
Some exposition and minor drama to move along the plot is fine, if not outright desirable, but if I wanted to watch a movie, I'd much rather just do that instead of 'playing' a "Game Movie"..

If you noticed, I focused on just putting news out there at this point. I did give warnings about not bringing in the culture war bullshit, and to not just be parroting opinions of the grifters. I even linked a combo video compilation for people to enjoy. I really want to see what Combo Spartan and SmvR bring to the table when Laufey. If certain people have a problem with this game, then they can take their happy ass somewhere else and play something else. I got about 6 other different flavors of actions games coming out in 2026 before this game. I am in fucking heaven will try to enjoy all of them.

You should play DMC 1, 3, 4, and 5, Tomonobu Itagaki’s Ninja Gaiden I and II, and Bayonetta 1 and 2. These games have much more to offer than God of War; OG God of War is basically baby’s first hack and slash.

If hating the OG games makes you like more the new games, good for you I guess. This is actually a good use of hate, you use to propel your love for something else that you actually want to spend your time with. You or me not liking X or Y game will not change anything for both games, but OP must be really friendly with moderators, because I have seen much lesser flamy threads being locked, but this one is allowed to go for 7 pages. Very suspicious, I don't doubt the claims that this is GG leftovers spilling over this forum, which is such a shame. Better to take a step back from this thread. God Bless unwatch!

That title pretty much goes to DmC (2013), since 2013. Though the Definitive Edition, not as much. So long as you're playing on Hardcore Mode, or adding Must Style Mode on top as a bonus while playing Gods Must Die Difficulty.

I never said the game is perfect, and some of the people started the culture war bullshit on the thread. I only called it out, because I knew some people were going to do it regardless (I've seen this happen multiple times here for threads I did not make) of what I did. They only proved my point, and you're making partial excuses for them.

Once again, only further proving my point and why people like them can screw off. They'll never amount to anything, but reliving the past and trying to win a "war" they never won in the first place, and shot themselves in the foot with a rocket launcher a thousands time, and never learning fucking thing.

I don't even like Nordic/Modern God of War either, I like DMC, Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden, I think God of War is an incredibly overrated and shitty franchise, but at the same time, you're not wrong about me having my reasons for hating God of War and preferring other hack and slash series, so fair enough on that

I've played Bayonetta before, and I'm actually in the middle of playing DMC1 for the first time. It's a great game!

There is a big difference between a discussing about a game, and gamergate drain-circling.

I can tell pretty easily which someone wants to engage in based off tone. The latter should be discouraged.
