Glad they're going forward with a side story, and not doing a prequel of Freya's past. Also, the jump button is back now, and you can do air combos! This will make the combat age much better compared to the previous Norse games. I am liking what is on offer here, and it's nice to finally play a character who isn't Kratos or Atreus, and you get the play her through the whole game. I am sure there might be a minor deviation where you're playing as the cube or the ribbons attached to the sword or whatever, but I can roll with that.

FTR: If certain people are not excited, that's fine, but don't come up here for "smart/smart ass" comments about "linear hallways", "it's a movie with no gameplay", and "forced walking sections (not defending the third example, but nothing new is being said here)". You're not being smart nor clever. You're just another parrot. Keep civil here people.

While technically true, I don't care. I am excited for all four action titles. We're literally getting 5 different flavors of this genre when adding in Wolverine. Six, if we're counting the Dynasty Warriors 3 Remake, and I could not be any happier. PB0 and Onimusha are my top priorities, but I am no snob. I am nor going to write off Laufey, because it's doing its own thing, and not following the three other titles. Ironic, because Greek GoW was no different, even though DMC and Battletoads (the gory finishers in the arcade version) were its main inspirations.

That's fine, but I feel the more options and variety within reason, the better. I remember time and about a decade ago, were weren't getting many games in this genre again, until after GoW 2018 and DMC5. All I am saying is be blessed we're even still getting these game in the right quantity, and not at all. Also, I added Wolverine to the action game list in the edit of my previous post.

Well, that's right, compared to some years ago when my list of hack and slash started with DMC5 and ended with Soulstice, it's nice to see more of this games. God, finally the endless soulslike wave is getting low.

It hasn't gotten low by that much. There is some slowdown, but people are focused on different things, so the more mediocre/average games get way less attention or are dead on arrival. There are still plenty of Souls style games out there, but they're making themselves much more unique, or are relying on more than just "hard difficulty". Action games, Souls style, and the in-between are coexisting with each other fine. I don't like Souls games, and I can happily ignore them and not raise a fuss, because there are so many other games out there taking my and many others attention.

I just don't think PS should keep remaking GOW in this format, it is clearly a depart from what the series has established in the past. Well, at least they are focusing on combat now, just don't understand why would they not do this for the past games.

I actually like that game format, Dante's Inferno was much more of an accomplished game in that proposal, but GOW still a good challenge, you just turn of your brain and muscle memory the whole game. The combat is not that bad now, but it could be better, I believe GOW remaster should bring a groundbreaking combat, something really unique and unprecedented, like they did before with the original games.

OG God of War is also mid asf, I'm sorry lok, But DMC, Tomonobu Itagaki Ninja Gaiden and Bayonetta are way better and more engaging hack and slash games than God of War I, II, III and the PSP games (and that other God of War game from the PS3 that I don't remember the name) OG God of War is just really boring and dull imo

I'm okay, is your opinion. You probably know I consider DMC superior to GOW. I love Bayonetta 1 and I think is superior, but I don't count it as franchise cause I've never played bayo 2 and 3. As for ninja gaiden... I enjoy the 3d trilogy but even without it's unfair difficult, I don't think it's better than GOW.

I played gow 2018 and if you think Greek saga is mid, the reboot is worst.

I'm not the biggest GoW fan, but I think the original trilogy is pretty solid. The two Nordic games put me to sleep tho, couldn't even be bothered to finish Ragnarök.
