Games you regret spending money on

I spent $50 on a copy of Dragonball Z:Ultimate Battle 22 on the PS1 around 2000/01. What was I thinking!!??!(Still have a little soft spot for it tho...)

I've got 2 for me. Daemon X Machina collectors edition. Not that it was a terrible game or anything, but I genuinely to this day have no idea why I bought the collectors edition. The box was so needlessly big, it's just taking up space right now.
The second example is something I actually feel genuine shame for even to this day. About 10 years ago, I regret to admit... I did put money into League of Legends 😔 . Was only one time, but the shame still remains... It's even worse because not even 2 months after that I stopped playing lol.

Both the Persona 3 Portable remaster and SMT3 remaster were disappointing to me, unfortunately.

After numerous attempts in trying to play the Persona series, I realized that the series is just not for me. That said, the remaster of Portable felt like it was an inferior release when compared to the PSP original, with worse audio and lazily applied upscaling.

SMT3 is a game that I rather enjoy on PS2, as I have found its atmosphere and gameplay to be well-done and engaging. The remaster on modern systems felt less stable when compared to the original. To deal with the cutscenes still being in 4:3, compressed audio, and performance issues all the while being charged around the same price as a modern AAA title was very disappointing for me.

The game has been patched as far as I'm aware, and is probably more worthwhile when on a deep sale simply because at the end of the day SMT3 is a great game, however I still regret buying the game before a significant discount.

In the case of both of these releases, it still appears that their original incarnations are the preferred way to play (without taking into account the whole "best P3 version" debacle, of course).

I don't really still regret this bc it was so long about, but it would be buying Dragon Age 2 from gamestop.

Not even saying anything about the game beyond the fact that it wasn't for me. It was more that I paid full price for a game after having done zero research and then played it exactly once. I felt... dumb!

Infinite Dunamis

Infinite Dunamis: an rpgmaker rpg made by kemco, which the name alone should tell you enough, but if you don't know, they are a company that turns out crappy, tropey in a bad way, grindy, derivative rpg maker rpgs. And also really bad licensed games before that.

I made the mistake of buying and playing thru this slog as a teenager and it was super boring front to back, It did have one redeeming quality in that weapons got stronger the more you used them and also had an attack tied to them that you could use at any time once you mastered the weapon.

Mario Sports Superstars: I thought it was gonna be just like Mario Sports Mix, turns out I was very wrong.

Mario Party: The top 100: i thought it was going to be good but I was proven wrong.

Mario and Sonic 2008: the game was so boring.

Red Steel: it was only $7 at a local retro used game store. I soon found out why it was $7 in the first place.

Mario Kart 7: I was expecting it to be a step up from previous games, only for it to be a dreadfully bland and boring experience.

Nicktoons: Globs of Doom: I remember as a kid, begging my mom for this game, i was excited to see my favorite cartoons crossing over with each other, the commercials made the game look like this exciting adventure game. When I finally got this game, was was extremely disappointed because all it pretty much was, was a very generic and monotonous beat em up.

Easy one for me, even if it is low hanging fruit: anything on the 32X (I had 3 games for it or so).

Dragon's Dogma 2. Bought it for $55 on release day but the performance was so bad that I never managed to finish it. It got even worse on the city and there was a bug that whenever I went to upgrade my skills the game would crash. Infuriating thing is that Crapcom still haven't fixed the game properly.

Yakuza Gaiden. Bought it for $40 on discount but I still feel ripped-off. The story is barely 6 hours worth but they padded it so much with unnecessary stuffs. Worst part is locking main story progression behind side contents. It clearly was meant to be a DLC but greed got to them and they made it a standalone. It's the only Yakuza game that I disliked and I hope it stays like that.
