Games You Finished in 2026

'Aight, adding Silent Hill f with all achievements to the list.

Out of new first playthroughs (not replay or DLC to an already finished game) my 2026 started with :
#1: Final Fight Streetwise (ps2)

Game starts out well enough, the controls / fighting feels decent and there's even a very simple "open game world" to explore. Bossfights are kinda goofy and it's a decent brawler.. But the endgame really tossed out a lot of the goodwill the beginning and midgame built up. A pair of frustrating / tedious bossfights, an escort segment with bad checkpointing (if you fail, you get sent ways back before the sequence and have to suffer tedium to get back to the escort). But the game isn't too long so I don't regret playing it. My main wish is the graphical style wasn't so heavy on the drab color pallette seeing as the 2d Final Fights were really vibrant and had very nice eye catching colors.

Done Ninja Jajamaru-Kun.

Ok, so I realize I'm returning back a little with "easy targets", but I put my 40 minutes on this and played everything this classic has to offer.
It didn't aged with the most grace considering the framerate it has and enemy pattern that is weird and unfair many times, but it definitely is a solid 6.5/10 (if not 7 for the times...hell, probably many people would go far for 8 because they can have nostalgia on it, but I guess if you're from Japan) NES/Famicom game alright.

Just beat Graviti Circuit yesterday

I expected: Haha funny game of robots beating the shit of each other
The final missions: Oh...

Silent Hill PS1. I'm currently trying to get all the extra weapons and items with the goal to experience every ending on a new game + Next Fear playthrough.

I did this 20-something years ago. Unless you're specifically going for all 5 endings, I recommend the order: Bad+, Good+, Alien..
Beating Cybil is/was a pain in the ass, and going the (+) route saves you the trouble. Plus, the ending isn't substantially different; in you mind– just subtract Cybil's cameo appearance and there you go. Although, on that note, it does make the Bad ending extra depressing..

You don't need the other two ending to get all 5 of the bonus weapons/item. Good+ will net you both the Katana and the Channeling Stone. Additionally, I dunno if it was a bug in my game or not, but if you use the Gas Can to get the Rock Drill first, you can then immediately backtrack to get the Chainsaw as well (but not the other way around)..

1. ape escape
2. tekken 4 (a whole bunch of characters but all on easy mode)
3. super mario 3d land (all star coin levels, no golden raccoon)
4. ratchet and clank (2002) (replay)
5. frog vs giant robot girl

optional list:
1. civilization v (replay)
2. civilization vi

from now on i'll be counting games that only borderline count in an optional list and leave it up to binarymessiah whether or not to include them

Finished Trails into Reverie in January, will be finishing Daybreak 1 this week. Hope to be done with the Trails in... series by April/May, as I've been playing them back-to-back since 2024. Cold Steel was a slog though...I came to HATE the f'ing card minigames on top of that. And if I ever see Pom Pom Party again I'm going to run a "Tea Party" on a school bus full of nuns.

Chrono trigger and Kirby and the forgotten lands so far this year...I know im not going to keep up this pace, but I like how the years going so far

Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island (SNES)
Close to 3 decades since I last played this and remembered why I hated this game back then and my opinion hasn't changed. I give it 2/10 and that's being generous

Just beat Ball x Pit last night. Pretty underwhelming end, but great game. New game + is intriguing but I dunno if I want to mess with that. The official website has all these strategies and recommendations for it. The base game got pretty easy halfway through, but I also don't want a difficulty requiring meta builds just to survive. I may put it down and move on.

(I swear, I'm keeping with more committing games. Currently at chapter 11 of FE Shadow Dragon for DS 👀)

Nintendo just dropped this out of the blue on NSO, so I had to play it since Balloon Fight is such a NES iconic game. Always knew of the existence and crazy that this specific game spawned a Hello Kitty one.

Nothing too crazy but it's one of those early short Game Boy games that is nice to play and beat in a single session, like Super Mario Land or Kirby's Dream Land.

Mega Man ZX was pretty goated. & that final boss is some major ass.
But enough skill issue aside, more people oughta give it a try.

I'll add Little Noah, Hotel Barcelona and Maybe Sifu, Megaton Musashi, Tales of Graces F and Edens Zero in the next few days or weeks. ::winkfelix

Have you tried Hotel Barcelona yet? I just got a physical copy for fairly cheap but haven't played yet. Heard mixed things but it looks interesting.

Finished 18 games in 2025, but in 2026? Zero games beaten so far🥲

Currently playing Devil May Cry with a friend. As we don't want to waste time and don't feel anything positive from having a challenging experience in a videogame, we play on easy, so I believe we will finish it next time we meet.

This was an agreement about going through all Devil May Cry series, but I don't know how many we will play. I expect at least 1 to 4.

I finished Survival Kids just last night! And I keep playing Look Outside over and over again... hoping to get all the endings soon

I got the "Super Player" screen with 100 eggs on A-Type mode. I'm sure it counts as game beaten. And you know what? ...I'll do the same on the Game Boy version as well and make it count because that specific version is one of my childhood games.
A very rough one, that's for sure. The egg mechanic and having to impile so many Boos/Bloopers/Goombas/Piranha plants plates in a row to get the bigger Yoshis is a waste of time and stress. Just go with multiple eggs since the difficulty spike gets very annoying.
B-Type is an ultimate braindead mode that I'm not gonna count. It was more than enough seeing what happens for each stage beaten and it's just Yoshi eating 28 different items (some of them he canonically can't in any game, but sure lol).
I like the story behind this game, being one of the first Game Freak games on top of that. They basically "prostituted" themselves to make enough money and finally finance Pokémon, if you think about it.

Ok, done also the Game Boy version (always Type A. Honestly Type B feels way more redundant and tedious since you gotta basically clear your screen, and there's no "Super Player" screen which feels the closest thing to beating the game), which at the times I knew it as Mario & Yoshi (PAL version main name) and played by my cousins at the times on the real cartridge. Curious thing is that on NSO there's no trace of this specific version. But I mean, I get it: the only thing that changes is just that "Mario &" in the title. That's it.

So what else to say: got the Super Player in here as well. Sometimes the difficulty seemed lower than the NES, then when I started having 75 eggs I kept getting 3 plates at times. On og hardware it would have been very stressfull since you'd inevitably keep pausing to think for the next action.

...wow, I'm already making so much analysis over a game like this, huh?

It's still one of the most "whatever" puzzle games I've played, but there are always worse ones. 5/10 for both versions.

The original on GBC?
Did you enjoy it? And how long did it take?

The game is on my list as well!
