i'm counting games that only borderline count in an optional list and leave it up to binarymessiah whether or not to include them'

this time i went for a heavyweight reverse-joint, i almost never go for heavyweights or grenade launchers, so this was neat. i'm also trying to get better used to using classic controls for dual wielding, and this playthrough i'd say got me used to them pretty well. the final boss definitely needs more health though.

I can't finish anything anymore. This bad guy Archnine, wont let me

Last Thursday I finished Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria.

I'm gonna keep this short and sweet. The story is interesting and the combat is fun, but almost everything new they added kind of bogged it down from the first game.

If you've watched my Twitch streams on this, you know exactly what I mean. tl;dr is I really hated the sealstone gimmick and tying specific skill unlocking to accessories, but I can probably write a whole essay why I hated that.

I also replayed Kirby Super Star Ultra, and that was a lot of fun. Honestly one of the best Kirby games to this day imo. Highly recommended.

I just got the Platinum Trophy in Rushing Beat X tonight! I think I am completely done with the game now and will be taking a long break from it. It was a blast.

I was very disappointed for the final boss

But I really enjoyed the game

It was easier than the original, but I liked it. It had a lot of content & some of it used to been cut.

Digimon Story Time Stranger
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Pokemon Black
Pokemon FireRed
Pokemon Z-A
Split Fiction
Tunic

I've been slowly tweaking a backlog tracker in Google Sheets because a couple years ago I was sad I beat less than 10 games that year. It helps to keep track, rate, write short little reviews after I'm done.

I was making decent progress this year until a month ago. Got into a book or two and a few different anime and those damn forever games (Marvel Rivals and Dragon Ball Gekishin Squ4dra). Now with Guilty Gear Strive 2.0, Invincible VS. beta and starting up The Legend of Heroes series officially, I wont be adding games to the list too quickly.

i haven't actually finished anything this year yet lol, i've been so busy with school and grinding Final Fantasy XVI that i've not had the time to finish any of the games that i've started. maybe that'll change now that i've gotten through the Endwalkers expansion.

Finished Rogue Legacy. I waa surprised. The last part is way easier than the rest of the game.

It's all around a very good game. 9.4/10. Biggest downside is that many of the upgrades aren't very interesting, just increments to stats.

i'd add Chasm to the list.

pretty mid metroidvania on the ps vita. Wasn't bad but nothing exceptional either.

yep, i can see how this one earned it's classic status. it took me a while to really appreciate it (and i'm still not a fan of vanilla dome or the ghost houses), but i really came around to it. also, this is the first snes game i've ever beaten, neat.(nvm i'm stupid i forgot about mega man x1 and 2) i also didn't get any secret/alternate exit other than yellow switch palace and chocolate secret (and one of the mandatory forest secrets that i used a guide for)

but man, playing a launch title when the snes game i've played most is mega man and bass feels surreal, it's insane to think that both these games are on the same console.

this was a weird one. this game has been a part of my life since i was 7 years old, i've played and replayed it many times over the years, but i never quite beat it until today. and it took me only a few determined days.

i can definitely see why this game is divisive and i won't fault anyone for hating it (even if i don't like to hear it), but while it is relentlessly grindy, i can't bring myself to not like it.

i ended up missing some of my favorite sims this time around (most notably roxie and dj candy) and there were some additions i definitely wouldn't make again (rhonda was a wasted slot and while shirley endeared herself to me, god did she have some of the worst tasks in the game), but i also made some new favorites too (wendalyn, cedella, professor nova, and doctor f my beloved). i also made some baller architecture.

i think i'll take a break, try to see if there's a mod that allows me to move more sims into the garden, and try to get the rest of the commercial sims in my town before moving on to the other games in the series.

I don't remember if I posted in this topic or not, but the last game I finished was Disco Elysium a few weeks ago.
The game is pure perfection, it's hands down one of the best stories ever told in gaming IF you go beyond just the main plot, explore the world, enjoy the atmosphere, learn about the Pale and what not. It has such incredibly unique concepts.

I don't see me replaying this one, I spent 72 hours with it and got the exact path and ending I felt was best for my playthrough.
I did cheat however. I didn't like that the game was so roll based, so if i met most requirements for a roll I'd save cheese it with quick save and quick load until I got the roll totake.

I got what I believe is the best possible ending, took the photo and everything at the end.
What started as me thinking I'd never relate to the characters because the MC is a substance abuser and a drunk, I also dislike detective stories to boot, ended up in such a wonderfully endearing story with some of the most memorable moments I've ever experienced and guys, I have played tons of games.

For me this is a 10/10 experience.
It's just perfect.

Other bigger games I finished this year
- Bravely Default II - Steam
- The Cub - Steam

I don't count pick up and play games towards these lists, I play and replay those all the time so it's whatever

Finally managed to beat Shadow of the Ninja (The NES version) i had to use a patch, but otherwise pretty fun, i also beat the first Zelda

Only one so far, but it was good:

Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure (DS).

Finished Sonic Battle.

While it could be a bit repetitive at times, I'd still say it's a lot of fun and worth time goofing around in. Emerl is a good boi tbh.

Recommended.
