Games You Finished in 2026

i have unlimited free time and am trying to make it to 100 perfect games on steam before taking a break from that and choosing a retro system or two to do a full dive into (then getting some more steam backlog done and then repeating with retro stuff)

Skate Story (im a fan of Blood Cultures so this was a experience)

Cirno Lifts a Boulder (short and 100%ing it had some quirks but cute little nod to early 3D platformers)

Drill Dozer (a friend brought it up so i broke my trend to replay it)

Cavern of Dreams (this game was super adorable and fun once i got hang of controls)

LiEat (i do enjoy rpg maker stuff)

Blossom Tales 2 ( decently made retro styled action/adventure games are always nice, its a genre i have a fondness for ever since i played early Ys and 2d Zelda games ((and others of the style)) a family member owned)

Digimon Story Time Stranger ( while i dont think i liked it as much as some of the other Digimon Story games ((its plot kinda felt like a retread of other Story games but since they knew the audience was a lot bigger this time wanted to retell)), it was still really good and well made for the most part)

No More Heroes 3 (am a big fan of Grasshopper Manufacture and i feel this was a really solid send off to NMH, now i just need Romeo to work on Steam Deck and for Flower, Sun, and Rain remake or translation of the ps2 version cause i played the DS version and just am weirdly enamored with it and their other games of said style)

Completed Subnautica Below Zero and Once Upon a Katamari, and now working on Pokémon Leaf Green while deciding on what to play next.

thus far the ranking:
1. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
2. Fire Emblem: 3 Houses
3. Super Mario Odyssey
4. Super Mario 64

and im playing fe3h still and kirby super star rn

ive focused on fewer games, but larger and better experiences. the story heavy games im playing seem a bit darker (not that much darker, last year had ff7 and ffx lol) and more focused on moral ambiguity and conflict rather than being as focused on personal journeys. i don't know how that'll pan out in the long run.

for the lighter games, I'm focusing on depth and creativity. last year was pretty sonic heavy, which was more focused on replayability, flow and a edgy vibe. i'm definitely looking for cozier this time around. it's looking to be more nintendo for sure.

its kind of wild to me though that ive not played a game thats below at least an 8/10 for me this year. last year a lot of the games i played, sonic and non sonic, were pretty mediocre.

as for my planned pool of games (i.e. ill be choosing from this pool, not all are guaranteed)
- xenogears is likely my next game
- another kirby game but idk which id do yet, i lean either amazing mirror replay, dream land 3 or return to dream land if i can find someone to co-op it with
- dkc 1 and dkc 2
- dq2 remake
- dq8
- ff7 remake replay
- ff9
- persona 5
- metaphor refantazio if i get a really good sale
- sonic unleashed
- sonic triple trouble 16 bit
- atelier sophie
- dark souls
- romancing saga 3, second try bc the first time i gave up
- a hat in time

Im trying to finish Dwarf Fortress, 30y have passed since i've started my first and only session and i hope to finish it this year - 2026. I think its finally time to do so.

Suikoden 1 replay
Dragon's Dogma 2
Nioh 3
Random Dungeon sort of?
i guess i finished??? Gran Turismo 4 if that's a thing
Metaphor (sucked)
BB Rider

I finished Neon Abyss and Resident Evil Revelations 2. They're some pretty enjoyable games.

Beat Resident Evil Requiem. Boring, bland, and so much nothing burger of a game that I feel stupid for even hoping Capcom will finally make another survival horror game.

At the end of March, I finished:

1. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Sega Mega Drive/Genesis Emulator) - 4,5/10
It's really crazy how different this game is on each platform, in virtually every respect, including difficulty level. I decided to play this game on every platform it was released on. This version is easiest.
2. Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition (Switch 2) - 7/10
Overall, the game is good after the patches. If it had been like this at launch, it would have been better received, although there is also a lot of untapped potential, especially in the side quests, which are usually mediocre. And then there's the fan service, which is also mostly just for the sake of it. Only Lando, who appears in the DLC, Jabba, and Bib Fortuna play a bigger role.
Qi'ra, Temmin Wexley, Darth Vader and Boba Fett also appear, but in my opinion, they are completely underutilized. This is especially true with Boba Fett, whom we only see and hear once when sneaking into Jabba's palace while in the ventilation duct.
3. Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley (Switch) - 5,5/10
A game with beautiful graphics, but short, taking only 4 hours to complete, and for a game titled “Melody of Moominvalley ,” there isn't much music in it.
4. Donkey Kong Bananza (Switch 2) - 9/10
Game is great, but I really felt that the last few floors were just prolonging the story unnecessarily.
5. Chinese Parents (Switch) - 6/10
This game is about being a child in China, and it doesn't really end; our first child becomes a parent to the next one, and so on, from generation to generation. You can play for the first 10 generations, but then it gets boring because you've seen practically everything the game has to offer.
6. Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero (Switch 2) - 7,5/10
Actually, in my opinion, it’s one of the best Dragon Ball games besides Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku 1 & 2, and Dragon Ball Z: Buu’s Fury. It has a very good combat system, tons of content, and a story that takes us through the series’ most important moments, while also letting you unlock an alternate version of events. The only downside is that the AI of the computer opponents is a bit weak, and the tutorial is weak.
7. Despelote (Switch) - 5/10
A game designed to tap into the nostalgia for childhood felt by those who were children in the 1990s and early 2000s, centred around the historic event of Ecuador’s first-ever qualification for the World Cup, as the action takes place in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, and we see it from the perspective of 8-year-old Julián, the game’s creator and developer. In this way, it is an autobiographical game. There is little interactivity; for example, we can watch real-life footage of Ecuadorian football matches or play actual first-person street football with kids. But the controls are poor, especially when you want to play football. The art style is unique and very distinctive, which is why, when I saw the trailer for this game during one of the Nintendo Directs last year, I knew I wanted to give it a go.
However, due to this graphic style, the matches are hard to watch on TV because you can’t see much, and the game is short - 1,5 hour. Additionally, once you’ve finished the main game, you can freely play the game in a game, which is Tino Tini’s Soccer 99 – a fictional game in the style of Sensible Soccer, although the title references similar game - Dino Dini’s Goal

i finished devil may cry 1 and resident evil 1 og (chris story) but i am going to play jill. now i am on the road to finish shadow warrior oh i forgot i finished burnout 1 and completed all the races

I have completed Final Fantasy 15 Pocket Edition. I'm currently finishing Yakuza 3.

Finished Resident Evil Requiem and I'm moving on to On Your Tail. Also, I'm planning to go on a massive JRPG marathon next month.

optional list:
1. civilization v (replay)
2. civilization vi

i'm counting games that only borderline count in an optional list and leave it up to binarymessiah whether or not to include them

guys i swear i'm playing stuff other than armored core, you have to believe me pls.

anyways yeah, my thoughts haven't changed much since my only other full playthrough of this game: the early game kinda sucks, the late game is awesome, arena is charming, game looks cool, game sounds cool, the hitstun is ass. i did gain newfound appreciation for the story after trying to follow it a little more closely though, especially after beating MoA. leos klein is probably my favorite ac character now. (also the final boss was harder than i remember it being by quite a bit)

my build wasn't interesting enough to warrant posting this time around: lightweight normal legged mgsaw user, silver coloring with purple joints.

KAMIKO
Salamander III
Super Mario Galaxy

(i don't know how active I'll be in this thread but if I ever look at this one again, I'll update with more to come)

Nioh 3
Code Vein 2
Clair Obscur Expedition 33
CULTIC

All I've got so far this year, I've been really busy.

optional list:
1. civilization v (replay)
2. civilization vi

yep, i can definitely see why people like coast 2 coast so much. the presentation is top-notch. also the heart attack mode and girlfriend modes are i'd say more fun than the standard racing.

Latest game I finished was Resident Evil 5 playing co-op with my nephew, lmao. Can't say whether I enjoyed it or not.

Other than that, I've finished Dragon Quest III HD-2D, Crow Country, and some PC-Engine game called Private Eye Dol. That's about it so far for this year.

i recently beat Minecraft with my girlfriend

I think Rushing Beat X possibly has me in hostage mode. I keep finding reasons to go back and play thinking I am done. The combat keeps drawing me back, despite its flaws. Partially (the first 5-8 minutes) looking at 1CC run only inspired me to do better and try what the other person did. I managed to do a near 1CC Run with Kahlua. Originally, I thought she was the worse character to play as, but turns out, Kahlua is one of better combo focused characters to play and beat the game. There is so much pause combo cancelling, and dash cancelling you can do, but the game barely ever tells you.

I did the entire run on Hard, and only died once at the final boss. He ain't even hard, it just the boss before him, Juliana, can be a biatch to fight. I managed to beat my old high score again, and totaled to 207,881. I am putting this down, as I've really got to get back to other games now. I've put 25 hours into this game now.

Took me two tries, but I cleared Boss Rush Mode with Kahlua in Rushing Beat X. Clear it is 24 minutes and 19 seconds. I don't think I am going to get a faster time than this with the other characters. What they do throw at you is some bullshit at the end, but if you know how space the bosses out properly and juggle them, it's not too bad. They at least give you healing items to endure. This game clearly needs a survival mode and versus mode for the hell of it, because I am not gonna do that mode again for long time, aside from maybe Kazan and Wendy.

I unlocked the loaded trophy for RBX. I got the 10,000 fully collected. Next is the character epilogues. I should have only two character left to unlock that trophy. I will just use level select and make it quick.

Okay, I completed All Characters Epilogue Endings in Rushing Beat X. The complete the game as Juliet Trophy can only be done in free mode, but I will save her for another time.

if replaying counts then its ocarina of time
