Games you bought a whole system for?

So we all know exclusives right ?
mind you they don't have to be exclusives but maybe just looked damn good on a specific console, anyway to my question.

I wondered which game was so good back in the day maybe even nowadays that made you buy the specific console just to play this game.

I am sure for many it was either Halo or Gears of War to buy a Xbox360 not for me though..since I slept on it,
for me such a game was Fallout 4 to buy a Ps4 to play which ended in a disappointment yet I do not regret buying a Ps4 since the console is good.

And well many years later I got me a 360 just to play Halo and other classics like Gears of War on it
so any similar experiences ?

Princess Crown for the Psp yep a weird one but at that time I really love Odin Sphere and Grim Grimore and I saw a Princess Crown with the psp bundle (my psp was a jailbreak by the way) and buy the system together with All the legend of heroes Garhav trilogy

For the DS because of Golden Sun Dark Dawn (which I still enjoy not a good as first two games but I did like it) Final Fantasy Rings of Fate (I really love this) FFIII, Dragon Quest 4 and New Super Mario

Odin Sphere is goated and aged beautifully even if I only bought the Ps4 version since they fixed some bugs if I remember right instead of the Ps2 one.

Also had my eyes on princess crown for the Ps4 but damn that price is insane.

Etrian Odyssey games were great on DS (the map making system was perfect on the dual screen hardware), so I got a 3DS for the rest of the series. This also applies to other franchises like Professor Layton. Also, I have never played Ocarina of Time at that point (had a PS2 instead of N64), so OoT3D was my first game.

Persona 4 Golden was exclusive to the PS Vita for the longest time, and that's what I got first when I bought my Vita 2000. The Project Diva series, Zero Escape games, and games by Vanillaware also made the purchase worthwhile.

Yep It was on Ps2 I remember first time playing it I died many times until I figure the broken dish since I over level to beat the game, man the pain I experience but I ended up loving it.

I did play the ps3 version where they improve a lot (sometimes I switched between the improve and original on my playthroughs)

Final Fantasy 7 I think is one of the games on PS1 that gave the console the edge among its rivals during that era.

Sony convinced me that getting a PS3 was a great idea with Infamous 1 then later they convinced me again with Infamous Second Son on the PS4.

Considered buying a switch to for Zelda breath of the wild,but well my broken years where already upon me at that point

Also Finally fantasy 10 looked stunning on the Ps2.

I did not get a Ps3 for any specific game to be fair mostly because it was a Upgrade and likely since my brother also had one,

but If I had to pick anyway I would say Uncharted 2 was a banger also the Last of Us is Iconic but I am more a Uncharted kind of guy myself
Also little big Planet while it may not have been enough convincing for me to buy a console it was a good game specifically the second one my first and my favorite one of the franchise.


In terms of my PSP it was MEDIEVIL I would love to say but it was Modnation watched to much commercial back in the and it got me hocked even if I played more MEDEVIL on the Console which was awsome by the way.

And for my NDS I have no clue had no specific game in mind played mostly Worms on it and SIms 3 which I already had for PC PS3 WII but I just had to have it for the NDS to for some reason.

If we count PC..hm I am not sure which game would have really convinced me to get a proper gaming PC Sims 3 on the PC are worlds compared to the other systems and I played the hell out of this game,

but I also played Age of Empires 2 a lot on it its hard really hard in terms of PC for me since its been to long.

Well, my list of games I want to play is huge. First, as I said, Persona Four For PS2 and also Lollipop for PS3 or Xbox 360Mario Galaxy for Nintendo Wii And also Pokémon x 3ds

I got it for the 360 is a fine game and I heard the Xbox versions is slightly better but not much of a difference so don't worry bout it,but I think you can get the Xbox version slightly cheaper on average I think.

Comprei para o Xbox 360, é um ótimo jogo, e ouvi dizer que a versão para Xbox é um pouco melhor, mas a diferença não é tão grande, então não se preocupe. De qualquer forma, acho que você consegue encontrar a versão para Xbox por um preço um pouco mais baixo, em média.

I'll see if I can find it for Xbox 360; in my country they're selling it for a very high price, saying it's a rare game.

We had an Atari 2600, which I thought was pretty cool. Then I played Super Mario Bros. at the neighbor's house, and knew right then and there I wanted a Nintendo Entertainment System

Ironically, the same year I got one (holidays of 1990) those same neighbors got a Sega Genesis! Always one-upping us, those guys...

I wanted a Super NES when I saw an ad for Mega Man X in a magazine. And the ads on TV for Star Fox sealed it. Picked one up that Summer and had a total blast!

Later, I wanted a PlayStation after playing the demo for Metal Gear Solid at a friend's house. Had never experienced anything like that before. Yes, I had seen Resident Evil, Tekken, and Final Fantasy 7, and even had some buddies gushing about how rad Symphony of the Night was, but it wasn't until MGS that I truly felt like I was missing out by not having a PSX. A problem I soon corrected

Same in Germoney got it around 30 to 40 bucks I think which is expensive for a Xbox 360 game.
Most Xbox 360 games usually go around the market for 10 to 20 bucks usually cheaper.

A game store imported a Japan N64 at launch, and let people play Mario. I knew I was going to get the console at the US launch, but holy cow I wasn't prepared with how Mario would hit.

Just the open levels, the controls and everything truly felt like a next generation experience.

Well, it's not an exclusive game, but Oblivion made me buy a Xbox 360.

And Persona 4: Golden made me buy a PS Vita, I love that game.
