This might be the wrong place for this but I'd like to preface that I'm specifically talking about playing on PC. If this is the wrong place and mods have an issue with it, please move it to the appropriate place if that's something within your power. ^^
I played FFVII with some mods I installed years ago, and in hindsight I really regret it. It included a retranslation and heavily AI-upscaled textures, and I was afraid that trying uninstall them would reset my progress so I kept them to the end. I had a great time anyway, FFVII rules, but it made me think about how I want to play FFIX. I'd really like the QoL additions of the PC version like autosave, speed settings, and encounter settings, but I want it to look as close to the original PSX version as I possible can. Every mod I can find for FFIX (and FFVII, for that matter) seems to be focused on increasing the fidelity in ways I think are just really unappealing, and I'm not sure where to look for the opposite. This seems like the kind of place that might have an answer for me.
