Games you bought a whole system for?

You know how sometimes you look at a game and just HAVE to play it? Was there any such case when your fascination with a title was so great that it made you buy a whole new console just to enjoy it?

Jet Grind Radio was the game I got a Dreamcast for, and I owe my ownership of a PS3 to The Last Of Us.

I don't think it's a reasonable thing, as it basically helps reinforce eternal exclusivity shenanigans. That said, given the choice I'd get a PS4 to play Bloodborne.

Forgot to say i bought a used PSP just to play GTA Vice City and Liberty City Stories lol.

I've done this twice in my life, with great results both times. First time being the Gamecube so I could play RE4, which I ended up not even liking, but then I could also play metroid and paper mario and those games were amazing. Then later I got an Xbox 360 specifically to play Dynasty Warriors Gundam, which was even better than I had hoped it was, and also the 360 ended up being imo the greatest game console ever.

FF13: I had my eyes on it since release, but never got the chance to play it. When I saw an xbox 360 at €30 I had no second thoughts :) And I enjoyed the game a lot! Now I have Eternal Sonata and Hitman Absolution in wishlist.

I was a ps4 gamer for well over 5 years. However, I was a 7th gen gamer at heart, and it was really tough to emulate 7th gen stuff in the 2010s. Xbox’s backwards compatibility was a gigantic selling point for me and I’m still happy for it.
