Games u wish where never created

I gotta say: I actually purchased Persona 3 FES on PS3 at the times and I had P4 Golden on PS Vita. I managed to get into those games eventually, but at the beginning they felt kinda overwhelming, especially on the difficulty. Then I understood the games better and had a blast (mostly with P3 and P5, P4 definitely not as much but it was still alright).

I kind of agree with you on Persona 5. I think it's a mix of it being pushed back so much (remember Winter 2014 when people thought we'd get P5 lol) and then when it came out it was still underbaked imo. And honestly, that game also brought in a lot of new, but annoying fans at the time (2016-18) and most of those newer fans just did not have consoles at all, so some of them just watched the anime instead of playing the game. So once again Atlus' fault cuz they could've made it multiplatform but they didn't, which led to.....that with the P5 fanbase. There were just too many bad decisions Atlus made with P5/Royal that make me think "hey....maybe they should've tried working on this differently".

Wait, hang on a sec. So your major issue about P5 was that it was originally a PlayStatione exclusive, right? And because of it (even if PS3 started to get already much cheaper tbh) a good chunk of the "fandom" experienced it on YT (or substituting it with that slop that was the anime adaptation), correct? If on a side I wuold agree with you, on the other...idk, The Last of Us on PS3 still didn't stopped it from the huge success it had. So the "Playstation jail" argument is appliable, yes, but 'till a certain point. Also I think most people managed to play it (and no, not necessarily only on YT) lol.

I really have to agree with you about the P5 fandom (and to an extent, the Persona fandom in general). I'm in the same position where it got me into Megami Tensei, and I do genuinely enjoy a lot of aspects of the game, but things like the harem romance stuff and more broadly the depiction of women throughout the game overall really put me off (stop sexualising teenagers, Atlus!). Unfortunately I think the game attracts the worst kind of fans, and it's really hard for me to enjoy the aspects of the game that I really do like these days because of it.

Ironically the only one that punishes for doing harem romances (even if "by punishment" it means just the funny cutscene) is P5. In the others you pretty much get away from it.

Minecraft, because I could've spent all those thousands of hours knocking out my backlog instead of breaking/placing blocks.

Demon Souls
Final Fantasy 9
Jak II
99Vidas
God Hand
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
Every Working Designs release of a superior Japanese game.
The non-Japanese release of Bare Knuckle III

I am tempted to say Batman: Arkham Knight but it does have some good parts.

Shenmue 3
Most of the time I don't wish even some of my hated games to "not exist" because even if it's not my jam, it's someone's favorite or if not a favorite, at least it brightened someone's day.
Shenmue 3 is one of my notable exceptions because not only is it a bad sequel and a bad game on it's own, it probably killed any lingering hope the series had to be continued because of how bad it was. In almost any videogame series there are bad / poor games and missteps and even those games can be valid. Playing Shenmue 3 ruined the good vibes and thoughts a number of my friends had about Shenmue 1 and 2, and for what? For a game that is barely a continuation of the series.

Fortnite (you know why),
World of Warcraft (Because he killed the classic Warcraft strategy series and started shitty ‘games as a service’ trend.)
I fully agree with you about Fortnite and WoW .

Fortnite killed the Unreal Tournament series which baffles me that epic reduced everything into 1 IP and its a question how long this IP will hold up till it burns down in flames like most long running IPs do .

For me WoW isnt entirely the most evil thing (except the live-service idiocy) . It brought the idea that you build and grind up your character in other forms instead only kill for EXP . This idea could be used well for offline RPGs if its used wisely ... except everything wanted to become the next WoW . Age of conan looked awesome till i heard "MMORPG" and my interest escaped harder than a ejection seat on steroids .

My game that shouldnt be made is : Rust and/or arc survival evolved .
While minecraft brought the deep crafting system , everything went into multiplayer survival trip ala Bear gryls in its most pendantic and grindiest kind imaginable as a sort of battle royal . Again with Conan of cimmeria , i was first hyped about a new conan game called Conan exiles .... till it was again multiplayer-survival-slop . I tell ya ! Conan never got a great RPG that hits hard , is great and had good gameplay . Even Kruul would be a nice alternative from Robert E. Howards stories and settings .

This is a bit of a strange take, but i wish NMH 3 never did get made. I don't think a game has dissapointed me as much as that one. I would've been happier if the last NMH game was Travis Strikes Again, at least i would still have some faith left on Suda51 if it had ended there.

The Smoking Room is my answer

It's a spin-off of Echo by The Echo Project, which is NOT an 18+ game, but The Smoking Room took the series and turned it 18+ and tarnished the series's reputation

The sequel to Echo, Arches, completely fixed this and even kept up with the psychological horror themes the original game had

Arches does cover much heavier and darker material, so even though nothing adult happens in the game, I would suggest playing it only if you are 18+

Oh, and those of you uninitiated, Echo is a "furry visual novel" that deals with Alumni returning to the town of Echo for a project and the game takes a hard turn for the worse

Just like in every other Visual Novel, you have different routes to take, but each route is a completely separate storyline and something completely different happens in each, so it's an interesting take on the genre

I also wanna come out and say it

Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance should've never released lol

The Third Game was an absolutely great game but then Atlus outdid it with SMT 4, which attempted to "do an Earthbound" and literally break JRPG conventions

I loved the hecc outta SMT 4 specifically for that

Going from that to SMT 5 is jarring because SMT 5 tries to go backwards where it goes back to JRPG roots instead of defying conventions

Before Vengeance, the game was locked into Switch as it was a Switch-only game, and I think SMT 5 should've stayed that way because it's an embarrassment to the franchise

I've said it many times;

The new resident evil remakes (the ones after 1) and everything silent hill after 4

Also the devil may cry reboot, crash of the titans and the spyro reboots and skylanders

Oh and marvel vs capcom infinite

These first two are pretty self-explanatory, they killed their franchises and dev studio’s.

But this one I’ll have to explain in a bit more detail.

Resident Evil 2019 is a good game, but a disappointing remake. It completely butchered the A and B scenarios, and it led to Resident Evil 3 (2020), in my opinion, the worst Resident Evil game ever made. It also kicked off the trend of modern remakes that, to be honest, aren’t really remakes at all. If anything, they’re reimaginings. And what’s worse is that Capcom treats these reimaginings as perfect replacements for the originals, making video game preservation even harder. Companies act like they can just swap out a classic for something that only pretends to be the original.

I fully agree that the new RE2-3-4 are more reimagining than faithful remakes (I only played RE3 remake and planning to eventually get the original, but I know they cut off so much).
I heard also of Capcom statements and yeah, those games as eye-candy looking good as they are imo are modern ways to enjoy games, in the good and bad ways.

I fear something like this can happen with other franchise they want to return back to revive/remaking (if Kamiya will return to re-do DMC1 I doubt there will be cuts, idk just to name something).

It feels good to finally say this out loud without a swarm of modern Resident Evil fanboys screaming in the comments, coping and seething just because I shared an opinion. Honestly, I should’ve been active here way sooner.
