Has in, games that are damn good but for whatever reason you don't recomend or people should avoid for whatever reason:

And I have plenty! All the Monster Hunters! They are too good! I have been addicted to them for years and can only play them and keep grinding until for some miracle I didn't bought Iceborn DLC for World. The problem is not the grinding, is that it makes you wanting to grind and keep getting more armors, weapons and whatever RNGeesus equipment the game has. I see news about Wilds and I know I would like it but I am scared of becoming addict again. That's why I call them "MHeroine". ::apollo

Anyway, you guys have games that are good but can't recommend for whatever reason?

I'd probably say The Witness? I love it, but it seems like it's a toss-up whether someone's going to invest the time and end up going, "this game does a lot of cool stuff you wouldn't expect" or play for like an hour and go, "this is just a dumbass maze game, what the hell is wrong with you"

System shock remake, super fun game haven’t quite finished it. Great game but I can’t blame someone for not wanting to play a game with a notebook out

Any ArenaFPS nowadays that isn't Quake series.
Reflex, Diabotical, Warfork, Xonotic. All great excellent games for example, but 99% of people understandably won't want to hop into an online game populated by 30 toxic boomers that will play extremely better than you AND will try to kick you out of the room if you aren't acting on their desired behavior/skill level. I know there is a part of these communities that is good and they are constantly updated but they keep dead for a reason...

Dwarf Fortress is another one because you have to be kinda masochistic and like to lose and spend a ton of time reading and learning stuff. It kinda takes a while for you to get it's full potential as a game.

Also most visual novels and niche indie horror games that i enjoy that have excellent stories but are for sickos like me that like stuff full of gore and absurd traumatizing content

I'm a Dragon Quest fan and I enjoyed of what I played of Etrian 1 but Disgaea... I couldn't get it...
I hear opinions on the Disgaea games kinda depend. Some people say 4 is the best one, I've heard others say 3 is an underrated one, others seem to really like 5 and every one agrees Disgaea 6 is more like Disgaea...SHIT ba dum diss

Guys, MechWarrior 5. It’s slow, gritty, and you can feel the weight in every mech. Graphics are solid, the story’s kinda cliché, but man—it’s so satisfying to shoot and watch the physics kick in, even with the lasers.

Sakuna is a great action platformer and farm sim for those who aren't put off.

Horror Fishing game can be grindy it points and you can loose all your catch if you aren't careful, coupled with inventory tetris.

Legend of Legaia has fun combat and story. It can be at bit tedious and grindy sometimes.

That's how it is with older fighting games too.

MegaMan Legends (both of them) simply because the controls suck and the second one loses its focus and all rythm to the point where I originally quit it before returning.

SU-27: Flanker: Game is great, but awfully complex (it literally rivals flying an actual plane) and for whatever reason it starts on the map editor, so most people get confused and never even see the actual gameplay.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddisey: Tough-as-nails and really weird... But very fun, quirky and creative.

They could always remake both Legends 1 and 2 with proper 3D controls and have a lock on feature for aiming at certain targets like with boss fights.

when it comes to anime and games I prefer to recommend to people that I know well. I don´t mean know them as we are best buds. Rather if I talked with them for a while or been their friend for a while.

Reason is for me it´s simpler to recommend something when you know them on a deeper level. Talking with the same person for a while will teaches you more about them.

Which makes it simpler to recommend things.

Sadly I have a hard time making friends I just suck at it.

Given rule 6, I...probably can't actually say their names. But they're eroge, and more upsetting to people (since BG3 is eroge and people celebrate it being such), they're Japanese. I tend to reserve those recs to people I know who are into it.
Disgaea is great! Hope you enjoy grinding
Etrian Odyssey is great! Hope you enjoy grinding
Dragon Quest is great! Hope you enjoy grinding
Wizardry is great-
Just use Sap and (when you get it) Oomph for DQ. Unless you're playing DQ1 or 2, in which case have fun either grinding Or smashing your head against a wall until you succeed. Don't worry, you'll land Snooze against the Dragonlord this time.

I love Shining Force but there's some battles that are very tedious. Take the bridge battle for example. Or the battle with the zombies as you slowly inch across a desert.
I beat it for the first time maybe a year ago and... yeah... those were some of my least favorite battles in the game.

Metroid on NES. For a kid of the 80s, I spent MONTHS tring to figure out where to go and what to do. No walk thrus existed then (outside of magazines like Nintendo Power). Now granted Zelda 1 and 2 also took months with no walk thru (yes, we burned every tree and bombed every rock). But the feeling was very different. I replay Zelda yearly now. Metroid, maybe with the Justin Bailey code…

The Crash Bandicoot Trilogy. The brutal difficulty in these games can be a major turnoff for many. Wouldn’t recommend for the casual platforming game player.

Disgea 1 Grinding Hell but Fun
The Senran Kagura Games I would rather jump of a bridge than Publicly tell People in Person that I play those games..
Pocky Rocky I hope you Like dying a lot
Dark Souls 1 I hope you like dying a whole lot
Dragons Dogma 1 Its a great Game but somewhat feels unfinished.

Clearly I can't recommend the original PC/PC-98 version of Kono Yo no Hate de Koi o Utau Shoujo YU-NO (thanks to the fan-translation).

I think It's a crazy and fantastic classic : the S-F/Adventure scenario is great and very long, the retro Chara Design is charming.

Unfortunately, the gameplay (a hardcore mix of Visual Novel and old Point 'n Click) is really archaic (even with the remake, it is difficult for any newcomer). And the content...is probably too "daring" (personally; I think It's positively thought-provoking) for today standards 😅

Monster Hunter Wilds.

For PC, it's a hit and miss. There are a lot of complaints from people with specs well above the minimum but get PS1 graphics or frame drops. And people who say the game is fine until the next update drops that somehow ruined the performance in their machine. In other words, the PC version is poorly optimized and you'll be crossing fingers with each new stuff coming in. For PS5, it seems to be fine for the most part. I guess for all that blather about concentrating on PC, Capcom still puts priority on playstation ports.

For some reason, I read that Capcom thinks that the story was key to MHW's success. No it wasn't. Once again, the gameplay is what carried it. In fact, the story is the weirdest story I've seen as far as MH is concerned. I liked World's story, I liked Rise even better even when it's a basic small town hunter makes big... Wilds on the other hand...well let's just say the
Indian looking boy who Capcom was pushing as mysterious and intriguing has this weird epiphany half way through the story that made most people roll their eyes and say...HUH???

They also introduced some kind of FOMO thing regarding the Challenge Quests. Before, it was just some optional thing that at most, just popped into your guild card and gave you a bit of prestige. Now, you have to get an A rank to get some kind of animated pendant for your weapon and you need to get that A before the quest vanishes...about two weeks. I don't like being pressured and I hate being forced to rush not only in trying to clear it before the quest disappears but playing a rushdown style to get that A grade. I'd rather they just gave us a difficult monster that could easily kill hunters than a time attack mode for difficulty.

Finally, if you play online, just visit the online sessions with 70+ people, notoriously the english ones . Capcom made stickers where you can input text in it and makes sounds when posted for everyone in the session to see and hear. Well, because of this, there's constantly some pervert in those sessions posting these noisy stickers with NSFW text in it and interrupting whatever you're doing outside of quests. Because of their constant posting...In my head, I now associate those cute looking stickers with something filthy. (Which is why I will NEVER pay for sticker DLC as it is)

In general, the community regards the game as lacking in content. For my part, I still have fun but I am starting to tire of fighting Akhveld and 8 star Gore Magala over and over since every other monster seems too easy...for now.

I might recommend the game someday...but not now.

Hmm, not really my experience with many games on Fightcade or niche old anime fighting games. I've seen pretty damn supportive communities that try to teach newcomers and offer a more safe accessible space for everyone. It's not like with most non-quake ArenaFPS that will active try to gatekeep you to a point you won't be able to join servers anymore without being kicked instantly and cursed a lot.

I'm sure there is some very bad communities in FGs tho, i can't deny

Thimbleweed Park.

It works well as a spiritual successor to early LucasArts adventures like Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken, with a few nods to The Secret of Monkey Island thrown in for good measure.

Gameplay wise, you can even make your characters walk faster and make it slightly less tedious when going from place to place.

That ending however. All I can say is, don't get too invested in the story, because the game just flat out insults you for that. Indeed, the only reason I got any replay value out of it was because the achievement list is easy enough to complete.
