Fondest game in your collection?

Digital only but I have a huge soft spot for a game called Woah Dave on PS4 / Vita.

There is like 10 sentences of lore in the whole game. On game over all game objects turn back in to people. The music is cool. The trophies are cool. The gameplay is simple and addictive.

Game deserves to be better known.

I'm still slowly working on the Megaten collection (English releases), only own a few of the games but I'm happy to own some of the 3Ds games. Especially since I got them before the prices got expensive post-3Ds end. Also shoutouts to my copies of Tsukihime Remake and Mahoyo before it got expensive as well!

My fondest collection in the shelf however would go to the Fire Emblem English releases that I slowly got done and even if it was expensive. I love Fire Emblem a ton as it's now up there with my favorites so just owning my favorites from the pre-Awakening period is nice (Sacred Stones and Path of Radiance are easily my favorites from this period). Will be buying Fortune Weaves to add more to it but eventually I plan to do the Japanese exclusive games!

With all of this games I got a emotional connection

Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom Ps2 was as far as I can remember my first game my 'father' if you can call it that bought for me back then-. the begin of my gaming journey

Oblivion on the Ps3 was my first Elder Scrolls game and open world RPG it was extremely impressive for me back then and still is have a lot of fun memories of it even if I mostly goofed off in that game as a kid

I played Tekken 4 a lot as a game and loved the Intro scene and watched it over and over again it was so awesome back then.

Sims 3 I played it so many times till late at night on my Laptop back then until I broke my Laptop in anger when it froze as a kid, oops

Sims 2 was also a gem loved the College Expansion actually even If I never went myself and the music man top notch also loved that you could add your own Music and even pictures into the game.

Minecraft Ps3 was the first time I Experienced the gem of a game sadly don't have my og world anymore but I was well a nob and build dirt huts since they where cheaper until it rained in to my house.

Final Fantasy X blew me away as a kid it was like magic the textures where so real back then the vibe everything was just right,it also was my first Final Fantasy game ever

Rygar was also awesome game the graphics where stunning for me back then and the scenes where also great for me.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Ps2 I played the heck out of this game 99% Solo sadly I played it once with a buddy in School but never again with him never beat the campaign but I played Galaxy conquest often enough.

Tough choice.

Sentimentally, Maniac Mansion on the NES. When my mother was dirt poor, she would skip lunch at college to save up money for Christmas. And she didn't know what games would be good, or anything, and the whole point of Christmas for kids is you don't know what you're getting from Santa, so she picked one at random. She thought I would like "horror" type games and from the Christmas catalog had to pick between Maniac Mansion and Nightmare on Elm Street. I definitely got lucky with her eventual choice, LOL. Maniac Mansion was also the first game I ever beat--although I "kind of" cheated, discovering two bugs on my own to bypass two puzzles. You could say I learned both to read from Maniac Mansion and also about the true power of words from Maniac Mansion--when you're a kid, everyone wants you to read books about, like, some baby bear who learns an Important Lesson. I microwaved a hamster and then set off a nuclear explosion.

Second would be my copies of Armored Core V and AC: Verdict Day. I can't say why or how this happened, but my name was in the credits and I got those games for free. Hehehe.

Distant third would be my copies of Another Century's Episode 2 (Vocal Version) and 3, the first import games I bought, and I 100%ed Episode 2 without a guide and knowing just a bit of katakana.

Random others: an Xbox demo disc for Metal Wolf Chaos, a game that is the best (of 2) games where a President personally fights in a mech suit; it came scratched, but a friend and I really wanted to play the secret demo for Metal Wolf Chaos, so we actually boiled it (like, in a pot) to see if the Xbox would then read it, and it Worked, Somehow. A digital copy of Metal Wolf Chaos that same friend bought for me while he was dying of cancer but was telling me he was fine; I guess he wanted to share that memory of boiling the disc before he checked out. My copy of Phantom Brave, which got me through a hard time. Makai Kingdom, which I was so excited for after Phantom Brave that I accidentally destroyed part of the case when first opening. A SegaSoft collection of old sci fi games on CD-ROMs, which would have been a good deal even if it hadn't included Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters, the PC GOAT. And Steambot Chronicles, just because that is the best game ever made, period, no discussion.

The games of my collection I tend to have the most fondness for are the ones I have a story behind or some kind of emotional attachment, even if they’re not my personal favourite games of all time.
Something like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness is one for example. I remember being like 10 years old or something, and I remember skipping school one day to go and get a copy. The whole journey I went on that day is still crazy to think about to me. I was paranoid me being spotted at the game stores near my home would get back to my parents some how, so I went like 3 towns over to a toy store that also sold video games to get my copy. Still have no idea why I was so compelled to do all this for that game in particular. Great game, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t know if it was really worth this risk in retrospect lol.
Vanquish is an example of a game I ended up getting a week before it’s official release due to a fuck up with, I’m assuming, the warehouse of the place I pre-ordered it from. I remember they kept trying to recall it for a whole week before giving up lol. I just kept telling my parents to ignore all the emails they were getting from this site and I’ll never give up this game, and for good reason too since it ended up being one of my favourite games of all time (They also sent me the special edition with the holographic cover instead of the normal copy I ordered).
Pikmin 2 is another one for since it was the first game I ever preordered. GameCube as a whole I still feel a real fondness for, as well as the first 3 games I got for it; Luigi’s Mansion, Mario Sunshine and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, since the Christmas I got mine is still a very treasured memory for me.
Even the games I got during my trip to Japan last month I have a fondness for since I’ve got the memories of the trip as a whole attached to them (Also helps 2 of the games are genuinely in my top 10 games of all time lol).

Someone likes Fire Emblem

I'd have to say Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 - Tara's Adventure.

It was and remains the only game my dad ever bought for me with no information - I hadn't been asking for it (I didn't even know the series existed), and it wasn't a holiday or my birthday. He just did it because he thought I would like it... I suspect it might have been on sale, but that doesn't diminish the kindness of that choice.

Like any Pokemon-loving kid, I was entranced by any other monster-catching-'n'-battling game, but... This one felt different. You had to convince wild monsters to join you with your pure battle skills (and feeding them a little never hurt either) instead of just chucking a trap at them. A monster had personality and this personality actually influenced the attacks they would use when you put them into any auto-battle mode (which was mandatory for the intense tournament battles). Instead of breeding just making another copy of a monster, you could do all sorts of different combinations to discover ever rarer and more powerful beasts... And all of this with charming music, a cool fantasy setting, and a moderate-length but sweet story followed by a lengthy postgame.

Playing it over and over throughout my life has made it increasingly more fun... The first time I was just using whatever I could find with no strategy whatsoever. The second I figured out what each monster family was good at and tried for special teams. The third I had a decent enough knowledge of the game to know a few breeding combos I could get earlier... My most recent playthrough I took advantage of the Woodus breeding charts to get boss monsters as early as humanly possible so I could see some of the monsters I never got to as a kid, ending with Genocidoh. On my next run, I plan to go all the way down the line and try for very difficult breeds - DarkDrium, Orgodemir2, and Deathmore3 will be mine!

It remains one of my favorite games of all time, and one of my favorite Dragon Quest games too. I'd like to think I have plenty of legit reasons for that, but I do have to acknowledge that growing up with the game and just how special my old copy, the label of which is now worn, may be influencing my feelings a little.

I still have my copy of the Misadventure of Tron Bonne all these years later, and it's never leaving my collection.
Also I apologize for my cringy Usada Pekora mouspad and messy desk. ::sailor-embarrassed

(I am jealous)
YeS, bE jEaLoUs... VeRy JeAlOuS!!! ::eggmanlaugh (lol. Sorry, I couldn't resist)..

But in all seriousness, I managed to pick up my copy of Tron Bonne about 9~10 years ago on eBay for an "okay" price at the time. I got the other two way before that..
I've beaten the first game, twice. But of course, Tron Bonne & Legends 2 are two games on my ever-growing backlog.. 😰

A CIB of Super Mario Bros. 3 for the Famicom, Original Game & Watch Ball from Club Nintendo which is now called MyNintendo Store.

My top 10 fondest game(s) in my collection: Kirby's Dream Land 3, Mega Man 7, Xenogears, Silhouette Mirage, Tales of Destiny, Gotcha Force, Cannon Spike, Tech Romancer, Nights into Dreams, Die Hard Arcade.

Quite a few:
  • Code of Princess
  • Killer Is Dead
  • Need for Speed Nitro
  • MadWorld
  • Data East Collection
  • Evil West
  • Viewtiful Joe
  • Ikaruga
  • Streets of Rage 4

Honestly? Legends 2 lacks a certain something that makes it almost a chore to play...

1 was even enjoyable on N64, but 2 I had to force myself to finish.

Honestly not surprised there wasn't a third part, despite a cliffhanger ending AND people enjoying the first one so much.

Burnout 3 Takedown on PS2 and a memory card, it was the very first game I bought with my hard earned money, it also earned its first spot on the memory card.

The only thing I didn't like was the crane mini game. Otherwise, this one is easily one of the best offerings on the system.

A remake that polishes it up a little would sell like crazy.
No no, I agree, that mini game was a bit of a headache.
Apologising is lame, own it
(I am jealous)
Okay, so should I also own the fact I also have more of Pekora's mech? :loldog But thanks, just self-conscious.

Bro... I'm legit jealous. I only had Legends 2 and Tron Bonne back in the earl 2000 before me and my family moved to a new location where I lost my copy of Legends 2. I highly recommend playing Legends 2 if you liked the first game, Tron Bonne is also a must. Plus, thanks to Hilltop, the demo, "Rockman Dash 2: Episode 1: 'Roll-chan Kiki Ippatsu!' no Maki" is in English (yes I copy and pasted the name... too long to remember...).

I just looked up MML on eBay, and holy crap did those games balloon in price!
Although Tron Bonne is probably still the second most expensive game that I own. But the title of #1 obviously goes to my copy of Snatcher. I got it, and 3 other games, for around $500 about ~9 years ago..

My copy of Super Metroid that used to belong to my cousin that I borrowed one day and never gave back. Probably a good thing too because it would probably be gone now otherwise. Also my 1.00 version copy of Metroid Prime I've had forever and the copy of Metroid Prime 2 I got for my birthday the year it came out. The copy of pokemon silver I've had since I was a kid and the only two GBA games i ever owned, A Link to the Past and Metroid Fusion. Also, it's kind of ridiculous but all my n64 games have a lot of childhood memories attach to them and are pretty special to me.

In my collection... Hum...
  • Sonic Advance 3: this was my first GBA title, and I love it even to this day! So many days playing through this game, unlocking the characters, getting all the Chao, getting all the Chaos Emeralds, listening to the amazing soundtrack, I have a lot of fond memories towards this game and I will never get rid of this cartridge ^^
  • Super Mario World: this is the same cartridge my uncle had when he was younger, and I played through this game so many times, even if it doesn't save I still love this game and will never forget the day I tried to finish it in a single day (I couldn't finish the game, but y'know, at least I got REALLY close çwç)
  • ModNation Racers: me, my friends and my family had so many good races with this game, and the character creator was just glorious! I honestly wish we could have a fanmade PC port of this game someday, I love ModNation çwç
  • Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX: I love Kingdom Hearts II and this was the first time I supported the original release. Hell, I bought this rerelease on Day One when it was released! And I don't regret it at all. I also love Birth By Sleep, but y'know, Kingdom Hearts II is my absolute favorite in that franchise.
  • Sonic Mania Plus: this was a gift from my brother-in-law, and what a present it was. This was my first time playing Sonic Mania Plus, and I love it, it was amazing from start to end, and every time I look at this game in my shelf I just feel so happy.
I think this was it? I could mention some other games like Super Mario World for the GBA or my flashcards, but I think these ones are the ones I have the most fond memories ^^
