I don't need to elaborate on how much dragons and draconic imagery in general has had, has and will continue to have a great impact in our collective psyche as a powerful symbol with an endless myriad of meanings.
Let's not discuss semiotics, though, let's keep it simple and fun!

In my case, it was the final boss of Castle of Illusion for the Master System, summoned right before you fight Mizrabel, the witch.

Can't recall the title but there was a side-view shmup we used to play on the Famicom where you're a plane collecting parts to be a robot and the boss was a robot dragon.

Yup, I vaguely remember the dragon being contained in a box and had multiple head, Now I'm so curious what game it was. Big ups if someone knows. It's a side-scrolling shooter where your ship collects robot parts as you go.

Been dragon slaying for a while now haven't you? thanks for sharing!
Yeah I guess so. Pretty sure Zelda would have been the first. Either that or Final Fantasy but I played that after Zelda because I played Zelda before I could read.

Ah, it was a formative game, I see. Growing up with Sega myself, it would be a long time until I'd have contact with N's franchises.

Ahh that explains why I've never seen it, haha!
I played a good portion of DS1 but not the others for any appreciable length of time.
While we’re at it, special mention goes towards Darkeater Midir from DS3’s Ringed City DLC expansion!

And while technically a wyvern and not a dragon, Ancient Wyvern from DSIII’s base game also deserves a mention!

Yeah, to the lowly human character, dragons and wyverns can equally make said character lunch. Monster Hunter is a whole can of worms with monster classification too that is too long and convoluted to get into here, but oh boy haha.
