yeah, crisis core is more of an action rpg. it's probably one of the better attempts of mixing real time and turn base together.A prequel to the FFI? Well that's a bit more interesting. Yeah Anime GOT might be a mild term if they paid a bit more attention to the political intrigue but to me it reminded me of FFXIII but with the inclusion of towns which didn't warrant me to bypass the story flags I got from reviews. I'm putting stuff usually not my fair in my cart but the call of an RPG is too hard to ignore and Crisis Core I know isn't my flavor and just wanted to know if I should have given any the last FF titles a chance this sale or just look for an indie to fill the scratch.
yeah, stranger of paradise is a prequel. you play as a man named jack. jack garland. the game seemed to have been rushed since it has a lot of environments based off of nearly every game in the series, but you move around a menu map with the world map in the background. you read textboxes with random names of npcs that were planned to be in the game. they're not; not sure what happened, but that's what they did. probably ran out of time most likely. it was most likely going to be open world and you would traverse a myriad of locations basically turning the world of ff1 into a final fantasy patchwork quilt.
i don't know much about 16, so; it could be good for all i know. if someone else has played the game, they can give you a better overview of the game without spoiling it.
starting with ff13, the games have increasingly become more and more cinematic spectacle flair and less about rpg stuff. and old games like ff7 aren't immune to that either; as seen with the reimagining games.
i'd check out some reviews of the games and go from there.
