Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War ReMixed

This hack brings Dark Knight from the PSP to the PS1 version of the game as well as a slew of balancing changes, customizable options, QoL features and much more.
PSP script and cutscenes to be added in the future.

Author(s): Nyzer
Type: Content, Improvement
Version: 1.1.11 (stable)/1.2.51.1 (beta)
Date: 6th of January, 2025 (stable) /9th of November, 2025 (beta)
Status: Fully Playable, Actively Supported
Source:

RB's Notes 1: There are two versions

1.1.11 is considered stable but has less changes.
1.2.51.1 is considered in beta state, with far more changes but less road testing, so there could be issues.

That said, in my testing, the beta is very stable and solid, go with that, if in doubt.

Updated. I also amended the description to clarify the PSP script isn't integrated yet.

Just so you know that ReMixed will have the WotL translation and cutscenes added in the future but not right now.
I hope you guys only do this once its finished or at least have a patch for the old one with no cutscenes. I also dislike the Shakespeare nonsense.

This patch (TLW ReMixed) doesn't have the WotL translation. The one which has it is called "The Lion War of the Lions" and AFAIK is not available in the RGT repo.

Thanks for the clarification. The description is kind of confusing and makes it seem like it has the WOTL translation.

Can you also upload the original The Lion War hack for those who want the extra content, but don't like the WOTL translation?

Everytime i see this hack have many betas and updates, but the stable release super stuck in 1.1.11

It will great have another stable release.
The 1.2.39 version is labeled as "Stable" in the Hacktics forum. Maybe you could try that one if you're willing to patch it. Or maybe RageBurner could include a third option, IDK.

It's possible that the stable thread hasn't been updated by the dev due to a lack of time since these things can take some work and the priority is obviously the development of the patch. I have played the first chapter on 1.2.39 without issues on Swanstation. There's reports of people beating the game without bugs except for some missing lines on menus (nothing gamebreaking, though).

God no, the faux-Elizabethan garbage is godawful. I'm saying this as some who loves Shakespeare, and was an English major. They replaced a horrendous translation with a tremendously up its own ass version that's completely insufferable. It reads nothing like actual old English the way it was spoken irl, nor does it read like a play, either of which would have been acceptable. It also takes a tremendous amount of liberties extending lines out significantly to wax on with prose; bloating the script in a way that sounds doltish.

I legitimately prefer the original as terrible as it also is. If you like it more power to you. I'm just glad there's plenty of hacks that don't apply it.

'Tis not unbearable, nay, 'tis most delightful! It doth render the matter far more engaging. Dost thou know how many virtual plays possess a script most dry and plain? Verily, 99.99% of all plays ever quilled. And how many boast a script adorned with florid verse? Perchance a mere ten. The purple prose doth make each line a joy to peruse, so long as thou art skilled in the art of reading.

Thou wouldst be astonied at the number of so-called "scholars of English" who, dullards and dolts, feast solely upon the tepid slop of YA novels akin to Twilight. Choosing a career path (particularly one with scant promise of fortune) doth not instantly crown thee with wisdom in mine eyes. When I did study the craft of mechanical engineering at the academy, all the English scholars I knew were of middling wit, with minds rotted by the devil's lettuce, who rarely explored beyond the basest dregs of popular culture.

I mean not to don the mantle of haughty pride, yet I found this a curious jest of fate. And, in sweet irony, the most learned in letters I have met were fellows of the sciences, or even the odd machinist or master of electricity.

It's literally within the first 5 seconds of the game, and it's not that great. The Shakespearian script is awesome and even the original devs like it better since they used it for the remake. You don't like it because you have bad reading skills. If English is your second language, play the game in Spanish or whatever. No EFL with a 3 digit IQ has ever complained about the Shakespearian script. It's pure fucking soul and really elevates it. I beat the original dozens of times but never went back after the psp script came out. Everyone I know who is a respectable person IRL prefers the Shakespearian script. The only people I've ever seen complain IRL are high school drop stoner dumb fucks.

i never post here but just came to congratulate you on how much you fckn cooked with this reply. Absolute dunk.

PSP script is superior in every way. High medieval fantasy + shakesperian speak with beauty and class behind every word = Peak

???

I've beaten it several times and got all the characters. The only thing I didn't do was the deep dungeon.

I'm referring to the most iconic line in the game. It's something any fan would be annoyed by. FFT is my favorite story in a video game. The original translation was flawed, but the pseudo shakespearean crap they replaced it with left me cold. Sorry 🙃

nah. WotL is better. That one setupid line you fixate on is right at the beginning of the game, it suggests you've never actually even beaten the game.

I made an eboot using your tool and can confirm it works great. At least half way through the game where I'm at right now.
Wait! The stable version freezes every time before the last battle of Chapter 3 starts, after the cutscene. I changed Adrenaline settings, tried making eboots with different compression, but same result.

Then I made an eboot of the beta and it worked, recognized my saves, and I was able to continue.

Yeah, the WotL script is overwrought and terrible. I hate it so much. And they outright remove one of the most iconic lines from FFT when Delita says "Blame yourself, or god."
