Fighting Game Central

Been kinda in a KOF OST mood recently and I gotta say, this is probably my favorite Kyo theme in the whole series and one of my favorite KOF tracks period:
'97 had a special mood compared to the others.

I always felt like Dream Match games were more laid back since they had no proper plot.

One day I'll do a marathon of the series but I'll need to find a way to play them.

If you have a Switch, you can buy '94-'03 on the eShop for $7.99 each. That's how I first got into the series.

I've bought almost every KoF on Steam (only missing XIV and XV) yet I don't feel like buying the old games individually on the Switch, sorry.

Am I the only one who doesnt enjoy traditional ones that much?

I've bought this game now that it's in sales

Nowhere near perfect but I love the aesthetic and Arc Sys' more experimental games.

It's completely fine. What kind do you like?

SSV is difficult indeed but not because of the special inputs, as you can only do 2-3 hits in succession anyway. Spacing and timing are more important.

But many players are deterred by special moves and flashy combos when in fact you can dominate by just applying the basics. For non-Anime fighters at least.
Add also that current fighting games do away with complex motions like 720 inputs and have more leniency, thus becoming much easier

I kinda agree that things like the infamous "pretzel input" are really annoying but newer games are making them more streamlined.

I'm glad they also allow input buffer.

Well tbf the only fighting games I played were SF2, KoF and Tekken 3 so I guess i'm a bit biased

i prefer fighting games with more spacing / timing than combos or juggling.. do you people have some recommandations ?

This is a terrible example, since Shodown is a more technical unlike others fighting game and designed precisely to not be easy.

Shodown is not a game for beginners of the genre
Then yes, I suck horribly at traditional fighting games

SNK's fighting games have always been complicated compared to others overall.

No that they are untouchable (KoF is pretty good once you get used to it) but they have a higher skill ceiling.

We said Fighting Games.

Trolling aside I hope she'd join the Akaiena mod roster.

recently been visiting strive again cause of two reasons: one being cause of 2.0 coming out soon, and the other being just me missing giovanna again (still might be my single favorite fighting game character ever weirdly enough??? maybe actually but shes DEFINITELY up there lol), its the game id consider myself to be the best at, and i found out in my area theres a local scene for strive so i kinda wanna get better to be able to participate and place first hopefully!!!
