PS1 Favorite of the original crash trilogy and why?

Crash bandicoot 1, 2, and 3
Which one is your favorite of the 3?
Mine is 2 because I think it was a massive improvement on what the original did, but doesn't have too much variety like the 3rd one

2 because it's the perfect blend of fun and challenge.

Crash 3 imo. I remember playing the demo before the game was released and was like wow, this will be awsome. Actually have the press kit of the game also which i cherish. The special abilities and the variety of the levels made it a stand out game in the series

1 because it was one of the first games I've gotten for the PSX, along with Doom, Viewpoint, and Tekken 2. Perfect level of challenge, and nice soundtrack.

Warped is my fave. I love the mission variety, the hub world design, the cutscenes, the introduction of N.Tropy and Uka-Uka, and the fact that it is generally a little bit easier than the first two. Also, the music to level 1 is really memorable.

Hard pick for me. I think I have stuff I like about all 3 but i actually find 2 to be the tightest by far.
I actually 100%ed the first two crash games not that long ago.

Also for crash as a whole, I also like wrath of cortex, the gba games, Twinsanity and also MoM and CotT

You absolutely should!
2 has the very aspects Of both works
As someone who didn’t like vehicle levels and wanted more platforming 2 was right up my alley

i did not care for crash 1. cause of you have to be deathless to get the box gem in every level. they fixed that in the remake. other my fav crash is 2 it was my first PS1 game. i almost 100% it but i got to 80% something and gave up. also i hated when you touched a nitro box crash's creepy angel come's out blowing some flute or something the first time i saw that it scared the crap out of me. also the remake is 90% angel's so i call crash HALOcoot trilogy.

@Yousef has summoned me. So I must confess. 2 is the best. It has the tightest design in the levels without being too frustrating. 1 is really good, but hard for beginners and casuals because of the no death requirement on gems, and 3 has some really high highs, but levels like Rings of Power and all of the underwater levels are rough. 2 had the most consistent level design. And it was the introduction of my girl Coco so it's immediately 10/10 for that. In terms of music though I can't pick, all three have bangers. The song from 2 for the Turtle Woods secret route and Night Fight goes so hard man.

The first Crash Bandicoot is my favorite because of the challenge, it's kinda punishing, saves are kinda hard to come by and you need to farm lives sometimes just to not risk a game over, but at the same time it feels soooooo rewarding when you finish a difficult level, it's something that i felt was missing from the second and third game.

Crash 2 is probably my favourite from a gameplay perspective cus I'm not that big of a fan of the time-based collectibles they added in Crash 3.

That said, while Crash 1 is clunky AF it has a special place in my heart for having a lot of charm that ends up missing in 2/3.

The cohesive 3-island world design is fun, the added ending is probably my favourite completion bonus in the entire series, and there's a decent amount of challenge to keep things interesting.

Its also the best one from a multiplayer perspective. While none of them have 2 player mode, in Crash 1 the super cheat means you can play any level you want without having a save, so its easy to do a 1 life/1 level controller pass and let everyone play whatever level they enjoy the most. Plus the castle machinery life dump is a nice touch.

I recently discovered that I don't really like the Crash games anymore. I grew up with 3 and *groan* Wrath of Cortex.
But out of the old ones I think that 2 is probably the most enjoyable. I like the vibe of 3 the most but it's got a bit too many gimmick stages for me.
