Favorite controller?

With so many type of controllers which one is your favorite?

Personally always liked the dualshock and now I play everything on a dualsense which I found really confortable.
My honorable mention goes to the snes which is way better than the nes one that made my hands hurt.

Controllers! If only we could have the perfect one. I mean of course everything for now is just based on preference. I got used to all types of controller. Nintendo (including the weird ones), Playstation and even recently, the Xbox. I also used some third party one like the Kingkong Pro 2.

My best bet? for now it's the Starfield edition Xbox series X controller. Always in love with the size and feel of xbox controllers. Just hated that it's still using AA batteries but I purchased a rechargeable Li=on one.

Dualshock 1-4, that shit was perfect... PERFECT for my hands. PS5 controller is okay but it's bulkier than the others.
Honestly, the more I used it, the more I prefer the PS5 controller to the previous ones. Just wish the battery life wasn't so bad.

I'm really surprised that the divets in the SNES controller didn't continue on. It created this unique grip that allowed for more optimal control in the case you had to hold a button down for anything. For that, it'll always be my favorite.

Dualsense in terms of features and comfortability. Too bad the build quality is awful and the battery life is short, though. I also love all of the Xbox controllers.

Has to be Dualshock 4 if we're talking about what I actually prefer overall. Fits really nice into my hands, I like the symmetrical layout and the wireless latency is still top notch. Gyro and touchpad are nice bonuses too.
I'm really waiting/hoping for valve to do a steam controller 2 with the steam deck layout.

The Xbox controller since the 360. Its just perfect in every way. When I was younger I was okay with the PlayStation controllers but since I got 360 in high school, I can't go back. Its not like my hands are too big, its just the controller being designed so well. I prefer the analog placement compared to the Sony counterpart as well.

I've used the Xbox 360 controller for most of my life, and in recent years I used the Xbox One controller a ton, so that became my favorite button and stick layout, but the actual Xbox One controllers feel kinda too clicky and heavy for my taste, so a couple months ago I got the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless and it's been pure bliss.

Lightweight, full of features (turbo mode useful for shmups, volume controls, L4 and R4 buttons), supports Bluetooth or a 2.4Ghz connection via an adapter, it's pretty and feels perfect in my hand.

The ONLY small gripe I have with it is that it gets dirty easily so I have to scrape the gunk off of some parts, but aside from that it's everything I ever wanted from a controller.

I really like the GameCube controller, and now that I see that there has been a version of it on each console since the GameCube itself it might as well just become the official Nintendo controller.

Now, the Xbox 360 controller is the peak "comfortable for everything" design, but I must say that in terms of usability: Dualshock 4 or Dual Sense are the best ones. That trackpad is revolutionary but sadly it will only be used on Steam because no devs puts any creativity on it.

I don't know about that many controllers, but I really like the ergonomics of the xbox controllers. They feel comfortable in my hand.
This is the common thought an my answer as well th e dualshack is way too small for western and otherwise non east hans, a matter of desing simply. I will say the dualshacks were durable!

I'm one of those complete lunatics that somehow never really clicked with the Sony stuff. The left analog stick should be on the left side of the controller not the middle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the longest though, I used a Wii U Pro controller for everything. I had a Mayflash adapter that worked on anything and I used that sucker for so long that the usb adapter just died on me in the middle of River City Girls 2.

If it didn't die on me I would still be using this glorious fucker. Look at it. Look at it's glossy cover that becomes an instant smudge and dust magnet that makes it look ugly. I loved it. I loved you Wii U Pro Controller! I LOVED YOU!!!!

But I switched to the Xbox Series X controller and it was pretty great, until I had to replace the bumpers that got worn out and broke. Then I had to also keep updating it or else it would cause freezing issues??? I got fed up and I've moved onto the 8bitdo Pro Ultimate controller instead and it's pretty damn good.

I highly recommend it since it supports X-input. Even works as a great replacement for the Switch Pro controller since the analog sticks are supposed to be hall effect ones that are resistant to drifting issues that plague all??? modern controllers for some reason.

The other controller I consider just Good is the GameCube one. The button placement is just so perfect that I'm considering getting one of those new wireless ones they made for the Switch 2.

The Dualshock takes it for me. I use the Dual Sense regularly now, but the springs in the triggers often fail, which prevents me from saying they're the best.

I also thought the Xbox 360 controller was excellent. And I loved the versatility of the wii remote.

8bitdo always work and easy to setup

the original xbox controller its big and outlive so many other controllers
it was such a durable and robust controller a solid build
cant remember how many times i did drop it by misstake
sometimes i was mad so i just let go of the controller and just let it fall to the floor
other times i was mad and bang it into the chair or table still despite all that the the controller did not break
it was a controller made to last to bad they do not make controller this durable and robust anymore

I just bought this one and I can confirm everything you say, it's simply great how such a cheap controller includes all that and even hall effect.

The original Saturn controller is beginning to become my favorite the more I use it. Incredibly comfortable to hold, good button placement and no hand cramping after a hours of use.
I'm planning to buy a bootleg saturn controller to use in fightcade, I really thought about it when I saw the button layout
