With so many type of controllers which one is your favorite?

Personally always liked the dualshock and now I play everything on a dualsense which I found really confortable.
My honorable mention goes to the snes which is way better than the nes one that made my hands hurt.

I like to think of my gaming life as BDS and ADS -- Before Dualshock & After Dualshock, because it was truly the biggest game changer of them all.

The Genesis and Dreamcast controllers making very honorable runner-ups.

For 2D games, the SNES controller is always my favourite. Since I liked the form factor so much, I ended up getting the 8Bitdo SN30 controller for emulation and for my Switch. It just feels comfortable to me and the Dpad is just right.
I have the SN30 as well as the newer one with the analog sticks. I use them all the time.

Also worth mentioning is the Superpad 64 for the N64, so much more comfortable than the usual controllers and I used it for everything.

I've used my uncles PS4 controller before, it was great
But now that I bought the BSP D3 controller from Lazada when it was much cheaper months ago, it felt great as well
The only difference is that the one I bought can be used anywhere (I usually put it in my pocket)
So yeah that's my favourite

I use a Dualshock 4 for emulation and PC gaming.
I really like the DualSense as well but, (and I know it sounds silly), I wish the Dual Sense had colored buttons like every other Playstation controller. And I wish they kept Start and Select instead of whatever the "3 lines" is supposed to be called and Share.

Side note: I will never forgive Microsoft for flipping the ABXY standard that Nintendo established like 10 years prior to Xbox, thereby creating 2 totally contradictory button standards in the industry. If A was in the same spot on every controller our lives would just that tiny bit better and there was no need for it! lol

Gamecube controller. Never had a better one before or since. Everything about it is intuitive and back then it fit perfectly in my hands. My hands have gone up a size or two since then, so it feels a bit smaller, but everything still perfectly fits its own place.

These changes make no sense for me and the touchpad is just useless. I wish they made a dualsense but without the touchpad, mic and headphone jack.

My favorite would have to be the old Megadrive 3 button controller, lots of nostalgia with that. It's a shame with the recent wave of licensed controllers Retro Bit never decided to release a big 3 button instead of the 6 in the body of the 3. 2nd place would probably be the dual shock design sony used for the first 3 playstation systems. That's probably the one design I've used the most, by virtue of it being around for 3 generations.

I grew up mostly on portable gaming, so if you consider a PSP a controler then yeah it's pretty confortable. If not then I'll default to the PS3 controller, since it's the one I spent more time with

When I don't need analog sticks its the 'Microsoft 8bitdo M30 wired'

It has the best d-pad I've ever used and 6 face buttons. Which is what I initially got it for.
But the 4 shoulder buttons and 4 buttons in the middle allow me to assign more than enough hotkeys for emulators aswell.
The mode/profile switch button and software it comes with is also usefull

When I need Joysticks its useless though, so then I use a DualSense controller, also the touchpad on that thing can be handy for some stuff.

This is funny to me because those 3 things are the reason I use a dualsense over an Xbox One controller for PC. I prefer the joystick layout of Xbox, but the touchpad is useful to control my PC with or in 3DS/DS emulation, and I use the microphone in the DualSense almost daily as my primary microphone. I used the headphone jack in the beginning alot aswell but eventually just hooked up a 3.5mm extention cable to my TV instead because its less in the way and more convenient in some other ways too complicated to get into, but I can totally see someone using it alot.

In my personal opinion the xbox 360 is the BEST controller of all time!! it is very comfortable for playing in the pc and for emulated games

I'm joining the Xbox 360 choir here. My local gaming/electronics/house appliances store was closing down and having a fire sale about 15 years ago so I snatched a brand new wired puppy for my PC for around $15. It's been trucking along with me ever since.

Sure, I had to take it apart a few times after accidentally dousing it with beer and I switched out the analog sticks for aluminium ones when the original rubber nubs wore down but it's been a trooper and really came through for me. Sure, it contracted stick drift over the years but it isn't annoying enough for me to look into replacing the analog modules just yet.

If there's one thing I dislike about it, it's the dpad. I mean, it's fine for general purposes but if you need to be precise like in Contra or pretty much any 2D fighter then it's a no-go. For that stuff I got myself an 8BitDo M30. I originally wanted it for the 6 face buttons but man does this thing rock for 2D gaming in general.

In terms of ergonomics, Dualshock 2 and 4 feel the best to me (haven't tried a PS5 controller).
I currently use a Vader 3 Pro which basically feels like an XBox One controller but has additional buttons on the back of the game pad, which I'm really warming up to and may be my favorite controller now.
There are a lot of good options for gamepads these days. A huge contrast to the choices available for PC gamers during the 90s lol

The DualShock 5 is also very good minus that trigger gimmick I just turned that off I don’t really like it

I personally found them to be on the heavy side for my tastes but I can admit that it did feel like a premium controller( which it should considering the price of one).
