Expedition 33 is GARBAGE

Damn i guess SWAT, Hitman, Half-Life and Dead Space are lazy games since they dont use a mini-map.
The point I made is for developers' bullshitting for the most popular criticism regarding it. So what? lol

I checked its gameplay video once, characters were talking basically via the same animation and mostly they try to put their right hand on their right hip but end up holding inside of their body like kidney instead lolol. Animations are in general bad and developer were like "the game has no in-game map because that was creative choice" to justiy their laziness and lack of vision when it doesn't fit the "explorer" theme whatsoever because they could make the character draw a map because it's literally his job like Silent Hill games so what kind of explorer does not draw a map dude? lol

As for the gameplay honestly it seems like a flash/mobile game. Again laziness and a lack of vision issue. And then they play "but we are small indie company" joker card lolol.
Devs use the SAME UE5 animation resources from MetaHuman projects and these systems handle walking, running, turning, jumping, etc., with a standardized mix, resulting in a very mediocre outcome

You are right about calling them lazy

Are you saying Infinity Blade a mobile game trilogy is lazy and lacks vision whe it was designed for mobile?
No one said mobile games are developed with laziness. Are you aware that Expedition 33 is not only developed for mobile? lolol

moving the goal post as always

Half Life is super lazy since you can't see the characters legs, again laziness by the developers.
You are being a contrarian troll as always lol.

Blud doesnt even read his own posts. Smh i expected better. Im not sad im disappointed

The funny thing is that photorealism/UE5 graphics are a rarity in JRPG style games, so Expedition 33 is separating itself from the norm by using that style.

Hitman is a non-linear game where exploration is encouraged in order to discover different approaches, so the absence of a minimap makes sense. Expedition 33 is very straightforward and braindead game

I have not played it so I can´t honestly say if the game is any good or not. Honestly the game is probably not for me either. When it comes to rpg games im more in to JRPGs "aka anime style" But when it comes to western RPGs im more for the old school classic DND high fantasy with dragons and magic and what not like Elder scrolls series or Baldurs gate or Dibalo. Or more sci-fi ish like Fallout.

So in all honestty the style of the game is not in my taste so I have no plan on every buying. Sure if I was handed the game for free I would play it but yeah it´s not a game I freely would buy becuse it´s not my style.

Also I would not blame the unreal 5 engone for the art style they chose. As I played a few unreal 5 games I would say most game´s look gorgeus but often run poorly even when they are optimized some of them run badly.

I did learn even that Unreal 5 has a micro stuttering issue that Epic knows about but they have yet to manage to locate the issue.

I would wanna say making all games in Unreal 5 is bad idea but the issue is the engine is easy to use easy to learn and often allot of devs alrady know it so you don´t need to waste extra money teaching people to learn Cryengine or Unity or such.

Unreal 5 should need to be 5-8 years older before it can become a good standard engine but I would still wanna see more use of Cryengine at least in open world games as that engine has proven to run does types of games rely rely well.

But yeah I would not say the game is garbage that just fals I would rather say it´s bad it uses UE5 and it´s not my style of RPG.

dude, what? what even is this take lmfao

Again it's laziness because the game is not only developed for mobile yet the gameplay is mobile BS. Get it? lolol
When the hell was it "developed" for mobile? Try again. This time with proper wording since your just walking in a circle

You are being a contrarian troll as always lol.

>doesn't play the game
>watches a youtube video
>makes up a bunch of idiotic assumptions about its development and gameplay
>calls us contrarian troll

Yah didnt even beat it so why should i take your opinion with any depth? You probably got filtered by Half Life 2 since it doesnt have a mini-map

I think -nerdelitist & qw90 did not play Expedition 33 and are rage bating.
seems about right. Man, I was hoping it would be like one of those constructive complaints about the story. That's something worth talking about. I'm still struggling to find my stance on the story
Disappointed... move on, dudes

Dude these dudes leaked out from 4chan just to spam refresh this page for finding an excuse for brain farting so no reason to act like they are a person or something lol.

It's funny because the graphics were probably the least interesting thing to me. Not saying it's not beautiful but I was running it at like 30-45fps on Steam Deck anyway so it was like whatever to me.

I thought the story and gameplay was much more enticing than the graphics were which I think says a lot about modern gaming--the huge focus on graphics for so little in return. I'd love to see, even if on a much smaller scale, a de-make of the game on PS1-PS2 graphics and see how that would be.

Here's my shitpost review of Final Fantasy: Tactics so I can get Duck Hunt dog reactions.

The pixel art, if you can call it 'art', lacks any soul to be found. Could they not use standardized sprites for every character in order to keep a consistent player feedback loop? For the life of me I can't imagine why they performed this development task the way as they did it, other than sheer disorganization and sheer laziness as per the usual Japanese way. Looking at its artistic synergy created a sort of ludo-dissonance in me and made me want to go back, perhaps as if I was time traveling considering I'm referring to a better games of a far superior era (my own), and thank the gods that character design has improved much in the decades that followed this games disappointing release. This game simply cannot compete with the likes of far superior cohesion experience narratives such as Lost Oddyssey on the Xbox Three-Sixty, or even the likes of the greatest action-RPG of Final Fantasy XIV, or my personal favourite game Honey Come Come Sushine Gala Party! Idakisae! 2.

This lack of coherent artistic vision extends out towards the rest of the barebones game, unfortunately, and I think it's substantially lacking in UI integration mechanics which is an absolute essential layer of engagement stack. The isometric view also belongs more to a lesser game feel than one of the prestigious variety that this game holds cohesive brotherhood with. Every map is designed more for ongoing character theming and forced gameplay loop counterblocking which made me greatly disappointed in the ten minutes I spent playing it. For a far more in-depth discussion, I'd recommend the YouTuber GamingPunkSkeptic27, they have phenomenal explorations of anti-kino game delves and really capture the essence of game layer mechanics and what makes them work. He's also totally a based academic, and plays a lot of games unlike me.

3/10, the last boss sucked.
