Yeah, I'm sad about the released version of Infinite...Bioshock is truly unique![]()
Does this game have a plot point that you connected with? But I LOVE Darkwood

That's something I don't see every dayHonorable mention to the general shittiness of videogame RPG's getting me into tabletop RPG's. I promise you, no videogame RPG will ever compare, it's good that they don't even try.

This usually happens with Undertale players.i used to hate RPG games and never had the interest to play it until disco elysium broke that thought for me, after that game i had a tiny hope that rpg games can be that good
earthbound made me unlike the genre a little more lolThat's something I don't see every day

Yup, it's a linear game with a plot you follow in relatively open areas with various ways to go about problems. It's not a sandbox game.Does this game have a plot point that you connected with?
I had that feeling with Silent Hill 1: a desperate father searching for his daughter in a cursed town...Or maybe you meant something specific I connected with myself? I really like the way it presents the world and the way the script is written. It's very bleak and gritty and scary, but tells a story of perseverance in the face of hopelessness, I'd say, which is a narrative theme I'm very fond of.
An N-Gage player, huh? Was it worth it?I don't like non-extreme sports games, but there is a special spot for NBA Street V3, Wii Sports, and Virtua Tennis on N-gage.
Have you tried that Mario + Rabbids game? I think it's tactical too.Jean d Arc on PSP. Hate tactics games. But that one got me really hooked cause the gameplay felt fair since the begining. Great graphics , appealing character designs a story where the campaign(party) get together while progressing the story. it has pretty good animation cutscenes. The tutorials are the most easy to understand i've seen.
Then After years of not finding anything like it, I found Vandal Hearts which i never gave the chance because i didn't like the genre at that time. Boy i felt the same kinda feeling of Jean d Arc.
After that i tried some Fire Emblems and Ogre Battle \ Tactics Ogre. I've tried FF Tactics so many times and I can't lol.
Yeah "Role Playing Game " You're assuming the "role" of your character. Plus you have to time your movements and analize the enemies. Hack and slash is more like Devil My cry, Drakengard( Dragon Dragoon). Hyrule Warriors etc ;)Dark Souls could be considered a RPG? i thought that was something like a Hack and Slash
YES they are!! If you look for the japanese versions of those Its Called Mario RPG, just like the SNES!I used to hate jrpgs with a passion, then I played Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga (can that be called a jrpg?) and realized there might be something for me in there.
I've been thinking of getting into Earthbound, but I never got used to its combat system.
Oh Yeah ihave. I like them but it feels a little different!! Its pretty good too!Have you tried that Mario + Rabbids game? I think it's tactical too.
Sir .... Your signatureI generally hate sports games, but I had quite a bit of fun with NFL Blitz back in the day..
I even tried Strange Journey because the characters seemed interesting, but I'm traumatized by dungeon crawlers (thank you, Phantasy Star) and I dropped it after the tutorial endedWhile first-person RPGs have always fascinated me with their aesthetics, concept, and atmosphere, their gameplay has always put me off - especially when they’re labyrinthine, which almost all of them are.
That is, until I tried Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, which, with its “pre-apocalyptic descent into hell” atmosphere - thanks in large part to its phenomenal soundtrack - managed to captivate me.
And it’s not that maze-like. In any case, the map automatically appears on the second screen.

We think we played Disco Elysium too young, it has since become part of our personality. A formative (if admittedly deranging) experience.i used to hate RPG games and never had the interest to play it until disco elysium broke that thought for me, after that game i had a tiny hope that rpg games can be that good
I, too, nearly gave up on it quite early on because the introductory section is rather wordy, but I stuck with it and I don’t regret it. So, does this game have any connection to the main SMTs? Some people put Strange Journey in the same timeline.I, too, nearly gave up on it quite early on because the introductory section is rather wordy, but I stuck with it and I don’t regret it. Now I’m right in the thick of the game.
Apart from the concept, the recruitable demons and all that, it seems that Strange Journey is a standalone story. That said, I’m no expert on SMT.So, does this game have any connection to the main SMTs? Some people put Strange Journey in the same timeline.
And which version are you playing? The 3DS seems to have extra content, but fans criticize it for altering the original plot too much.Apart from the concept, the recruitable demons and all that, it seems that Strange Journey is a standalone story. That said, I’m no expert on SMT.
I LOVE BAROQUE! I only played the PS1 version, but it's honestly THE roguelike of all time. Better than Shiren The Wanderer (no hate on my boy Shiren) imo.also Baroque comes mind about Roguelikes
I personally never played this SMT game in particular, but the thing about SMT games (the ones I played at least) is that plenty of them are spin-offs and often don't have much connection to the main games aside from having the same demons and whatever. (Even SMT in itself is a spin off of the original Megami Tensei (Digital Devil Story) games from the Famicom and such.) If I had to guess, this game follows suite, and doesn't connect to the mainline games either. Even says so here. So, does this game have any connection to the main SMTs? This has been the case in the 80's because of how space was popular as a theme (I remember reading that Space Invaders almost was about a guy on the ground vs planes but they went for ship vs aliens).I'm usually not crazy about shoot-'em-ups (I don't hate them, but there are a million spaceship shooters that are all very similar)...
So it was SMT Wikia that confused me, because it states what I had said previously. If I had to guess, this game follows suite, and doesn't connect to the mainline games either. Even says so here.
