Ever completed the Pokedex?

I managed it once and I did it legit. Ultra Sun I pulled it off with the online trading system being a lot more open and free before Game Freak realized they could lock down a lot of the trading mechanics that I used under their subscription service for Pokemon Home. Like I could post up a Sun exclusive mon and request for trade the Moon equivalent exclusive and it was nice. Guess it was too nice in the end though since now that feature is tied to Home

That sounds really good, man.

And them taking it away makes me wanna kick someone in the teeth XD

Never, i mean the best one i get was getting all the pokemon that doesn't evolve via trade. Oh and also feebas

Since Mew is definitely locked in GRBY alongside other even mons I stopped bothering.

YEs! i di on pokemon violet. i sctually like that installment a lot. the last one to get for me was the gold coin guy lol i forgot his name

No because I've never traded pokemon or bothered to emulate trading

Other than traded pokemon though I think I completed Fire Red and maybe Diamond

No but I always wanted to just as a fun personal challenge, but I tend to get bored with the games after beating the League except for a few outliers.

I'm currently playing the romhack for Pokémon FireRed called Essence, which lets you complete the Kanto pokedex in a single save (all version exclusives exist, trades evolve at 37 etc) and so far it's been a pretty immersive and fun experience. Currently made it to Celadon.

Not my cup of tea, i am currently doing so in the Yellow Legacy hack, but for my part i prefer to simply be the champion, beside the crazy shit you need to do to evolve Pokey moms nowadays is just *Nope noises*

All those poor Kanto trainers lied to and promised only 150 mons to catch... XD

I have my launch day copy of Diamond still with a completed dex.

No. But I owned one of this, also known as Pokedex.

I also had this, it was an absolute cheap as all hell let-down compared to the pokedex in red/blue.

I was a huge Pokémon fan when it was at it's peak and I loved gold/silver the most, but any time I tried to get all the Pokémon, I'd realise that I'd need to trade for other ones and I called it a day each time. That and it really isn't worth it. I go all in on a handful of Pokémon and just finish the game and hunt the legendary and then call it a day.

I could barely catch and evolve a Pokémon in Pokémon Pinball!

Never, and I've been playing since Red/Blue came out in '98. It was feasible for me for the first few gens, but with over 1000+ pokemon now, I doubt it'll ever happen.
Yeah, I don't hate myself enough to try that now... It was already a tall order with "just" 151 of the buggers.

Despite having played a fair few of them, I've never actually managed to complete the pokedex, at least not without just altering a save to do it.

Frankly, I'm not even sure I've done that either. I might have to dedicate myself to doing it in at least one of the games at some stage lmao

On a rom hack of Red to add the Gen 2 colour and sprites. I grinded, and used the special stat wild encounter glitch to spawn Pokemon that were trade only or Blue exclusive. So technically I did! Without any mods to make a possible. It was surprisingly a cool challenge. Finding Pokemon with a close numbers to the exact one needed for the glitch, and leveling them hoping it lands on the magic number to catch the elusive few. Wasn't as bad as I thought, I just had to put that to rest after so many hours with an actual GBC and Pokemon Red. I have both Red and Blue with Pokemon Stadium and the gameboy cartridge add-on. I was convinced I'd do it one day and fully get them all legit. But thankfully I forgot about it. That emulated run was the closure I needed.

And never bothered again.

You?
I did, actually!

You could theoretically do a glitch to get Mew in RB (I don't know if it was in Green or Yellow).

But exchange-only evolutions are out of the window.

Only once, in Red. It felt like a big achievement at the time.

I only did once when I was around 13 (while cheating like an angry bastard, because I had just discovered both GameShark and the fact that not every Pokemon was available to catch).

I was incredibly underwhelmed by the reward you got for in Yellow for it:

A stupid certificate!

And never bothered again.

You?
The only time I completed it was when I was playing through Let's Go Eevee.
I don't really care about completing the dex but the Pokémon catching mechanic in that game was really good.

Nope but it never really interested me.
