English Moonlight Syndrome fan translation progress

Whaaaaat?! Holy shit yes! God that must have been one hell of a project.
I worked as a professional translator for several years and a script as nuanced and culturally charged as that of Moonlight Syndrome would have been a mammoth undertaking. Massive kudos to their translator/s. Really, really excited for this.

So many yeses!
Been waiting for the day this would happen, now here's hoping one day we get Twilight Syndrome Tansaku-hen and Kyuumei-hen translated. There is a Youtube Channel that was showcasing Tansaku-hen being translated, but not much has been updated from the one youtube video I saw.

And I try to translate my beloved PS2 games and then I bump into memory and character limit and then games having some unknown compressed image files preventing me from translating Japanese texts that is actually image files so me cry ::sadkirby . Fan transtlation of games are hard yo and people talk like it gotta be so easy and why some games have no translation is no one want it. ::sadkirby ::sadkirby ::sadkirby lol

Also Saikai is very good, despite of having 3D models. The DS one was the only one I didn't feel the same.

I only finished myself the first one and it is a total recommendation for horror fans.

Finally, I am very happy about this news. I love Kill the Past, and I really want to play Moonlight Syndrome. I have always been fascinated by its story and themes ever since I started playing Suda's games back in 2021.

I do appreciate and preserve yours and the others work, man. And I think most of us from here on RetroGameTalk do the same! ^^

Except I have no useful work to "preserve" lol. My translations usually don't correctly display shit and I know nothing about accessing image of images to translate them back, so in theory when I can I can make a game "playable" but lots of stuff can be hard to read and navigate around and my Butchigiri Densetsu 2 Kai and Shin Bakusou Dekotora Densetsu translations attempts are a proof!!! Well at least in the latter game song lyrics displays correctly but had to really reduce the amount of text to translate to kill actual meanings of songs, and "visual novel" aspect of text having a problem with floading off the screen but the game is "playable" if you learn what Japanese buttons does. But at least name of trucks and parts and translated lol.

So in reality so many people are willing to translate games and they do stuff, yet lots of games are left in "unfinished project" state due to a road block that is impossible for translator to develop proper fully translation patch. I mean it is not impossible to properly translate the game but I mean it's impossible for me because my brain is not enough for it lolol.

Oh well...that sucks honestly. Hopefully, ROM translation becomes more accessible sometime in the near-future. Who knows, right?

Well good news is AIs, the bad news is AI being useless if users like me having no brain to comprehend what they gotta do lol.

For example I learned a way to translate a game to its source code to change it in the way you want, which makes translation easy, and then you convert the game back to any platform you want. This is not easy but it's a theory came into reality way. Still it ends with the user who translates the game.

Oh hey the funny Dangitgrandpa game
Don't do my goat Suda like that bruh
