Not a poet person but I did watch the Chinese animated film, 30,000 Miles to Chang'an, recently and that features 48 Chinese poems. Some by the main characters Gao Shi and Li Bai.

It seems very difficult to do. Li Bai had to be well drunk to get poem-ey.
