Well here is the question when you buy a used copy of a game and those can get quite expensive nowadays sadly for Retro Games if you need to have the Manual of the game that was with the game or if you just need the game.

So how strict are you when you buy a used game do you pay the extra amount of money to have the Manual and the Game or rather save a few bucks and only have the game ?

For me it depends if its only a few more bucks 2 to 5€ than I get the one with the Manual just for it to feel complete and I also like Manuals but if is 10 to 20€ just to have the Manual than no I just take the Box and the Game.

Loose Cd's are a no go for me I would need to be really desperate for a Game to consider this and even then it needs to be below 10€ this is none negotiable for me for a loose Cd.

I don't really care about the manual because you can always look up a guide online. But those manuals can really raise the value or price of those used games. There's even a time that a manual was sold separately for a hefty price.

Of course, at Gamestop when I was buying used games for my psp collection I was more than happy when I could find them whole; if not, they were cheap so I looked for them somewhere else.

Right now, I have the Vita and 3ds modded so I got rid of my physical collection (to free some space and get back some money, though I regret it a bit), so hopefully I'm not going to buy games with the manual anymore (only Switch games, but those don't come with anything inside, sadly).

prefer if its with the manual - i feel like i am paying for half a product if not , unless i am desperate i will not buy it.

Eh, I don't really care honestly. I'm never really going to do anything with the manual besides read it for like two minutes, so unless it's about the same price as a complete in box I'll just grab it without one. The most important piece is having the game case itself on the shelf in not very scuffed condition if possible.

Umm... buying a game? 😮
(Let me search the internet and see what's the meaning of it... 🤨)

Jokes aside, the only games i ever bought were multi-cart bootleg games... needless to say, none ever had a manual or even a box!

The only games I buy are digital; I mainly play games on PC, so buying physical games is not really a thing for the platform anymore. I do own a copy of Daxter for the PSP with its original manual, but that's about it.

I ideally prefer to have the manual included when buying physical games, unless it's something like Nintendo stuff where you're paying boatloads of money for old flimsy cardboard then I'll gladly just take the game by itself, and if even that's too expensive for comfort then I'll just find the ROM and call it a day.

To add to that, PDF scans for a lot of manuals can be found online so you won't completely be missing out on them regardless of your preferences.
