Do you like catching shiny Pokemon?

I don't shiny hunt, but when I'm using Pokemon Home, if I see a shiny I try to get it asap.

Shinies in general are really good to trade into higher rarities Pokemon, such as Legendaries

I've never captured one in the mainline games, just in pokémon go
UnU
But it's always a nice surprise to see one

Nope. Without cheats the chances were too low / took way too much time to have those random encounters to even attempt to capture one. When one did happen ... I wasn't lucky enough .... instead of lowering HP enough to to be critical ... it was my pokemon that did a critical hit ... that shine Vulpix just got KO'd instead ... oh well

Before generation 6? No. Now yes I have tons now. I love giving them away to friends.

That's sort of complicated. I love finding them naturally, but I think everyone does. That feeling of "finally" when you're specifically shiny hunting is amazing, but... it's such a chore and can really drag.

Then there's the "Yay, I found a wild shiny!"... only for it to be a bad shiny. Like one that barely looks different, or is just absolutely hideous.

Also, increased shiny odds over the generations is two-sided. On one hand you can get your favorite shiny pokemon easier, and if the MAIN appeal is their appearance that's great... but it really kills the rarity hype. Shinies are so easy to get now it sort of robs them of something, which is why I think maybe we need secondary shinies; one that's more common but still unique (being the current shiny), and one that's back to suuuuper rare. There's still complications there, too... but I dunno, it just feels like it's time.

I agree, some Pokémon's shinies are barely noticeable, (the Garchomp comparison picture below), some shiny colors ruin the original colors, (the Krookodile picture below) & some are just colored so gross.

Vipox on X: Everyone is talking about the worst shiny Pokémon. The only answer is shiny Krookodile https://t.co/2kdDk51DEZ / X

from the general consensus that i've been seeing here on this thread, i think the shiny form might be better suited for a super saiyan like mechanic. the mon in question could briefly power up for a turn or 2 and change color for the duration of the powered up state. and their could be a reward after beating a gym leader or just a npc that can change the color of your pokemon to that if you like it or let you pick out the colors for your mon. disgaea 5 has a option for all characters to have their sprite color palette to be altered and changed to whatever the player wants it to be. that might be a good idea to incorporate.

I found 2 full odds shinies in my life, one is a Weepinbell when I was EV training in Pokémon Y (I had to be super careful not to kill the wrong one cuz it was an horde encounter), other is a Poochyena in Pokémon Emerald (not too much time after I first got Poké Balls) ?

The same week I found the shiny Poochyena I pulled Angra Mainyu in FGO (which has a 0.01% rate of being summoned lol). That was probably the luckiest week of my whole life lmfao. It was the first week of the year too, so that's definitely a banger way to start a new year lol

I've found a couple shinies and I always catch them, but I don't think I've ever really used one. x) Anything that relies on RNG just infuriates me, I'd rather die instead of hunting for shinies.

That might be something they could do for a future Pokemon game.

Hunting them sounds tedious. I've only naturally encountered two: the first was a Tentacruel in Gold and the second was a Wobbuffet

I think I'd have turned the game off at that point lol

i think i did stop playing the game and haven't been back since.

I wish shiny Sneasel was Golden like the Gen 2 sprite.
