After seeing a ton of discussion on the matter, I half rescind my statement. I haven't had any problem but I also don't really directly communicate on there and usually use it for the specific channels that have links to freeware or such. I like this set up more than modern social media so that's why I've felt more comfortable talking on here.
there are times when I don't mind friend requests or DMs. Even from the server where I would toggle that on.
Might be for the best.

I was just being a little silly; I was mostly referring to the staff here being different from the staff on the Discord, but I think that the staff here might just be one of my favorite kinds of staff on a site with rules that I've seen.

Unfortunately dramas and shit have always been a thing since the early days of forums. That or you couldn't have any conversations because of authoritarian, overzealous admins/mods that were walking stereotypes of "internet is serious business". And forums today are even worse because of the influence they got from social media culture. Even if some decent forums exist, they're dead as hell. The only forums I miss are the ones for video games isos/roms/soundtracks/artbook that focused only at sharing stuff like that and forums dedicated to certain fandoms where people were much more civilized comparing to the more mainstream forums.
