It's true no amount of optimistic platitudes can mitigate the chaos that a Discord server brings to the table, but I suppose it comes with the territory.

It's probably fine, right? As long as the forums don't go away. It's good to have options. I know there are settings for Discord servers to have threads, but it still feels so congested compared to a forum in terms of being able to organize and archive things. I haven't been a part of any big Discord communities, so I haven't really seen much drama, but it can't be that much worse than forum drama. If people have a way to communicate, they will also have a way to communicate poorly, regardless of the medium.
The real problem of Discord is when resources are hidden there in favor of forums
Discord brings drama to every community it touches, clique posting, tmi shit, off-topic shit becoming a bigger part of discussion - keep it retro and get something more civilized like an IRC channel.
Well, below this post. You can see the "Connect with us" and it includes Discord, Bluesky, YouTube Facebook, Instagram and Reddit. So it's pretty inevitable 
Meh, if you wanna use Social Media/Discord on you're Forum, i see no harm in it.

Well Discord is just like any forum and social media spot. It all depends on what muppets join and if you kick them or not. I have 1 discord server im part of and we never had drama ever but that because we kick any shithead that tries to start anything.
Discord is not bad in it self it´s the people that´s the issue kick and insta ban any trouble maker with the first sign of issue. I mean it´s not like this forum is save from Drama and trash.

My first and only true experience with discord was entering a server full of minors doing ERP and one of the mods tried to groom me thinking i was a minor and asking me to do "femboy pics for money lol xD UwU". I was tempted to send a picture of my 150kg hairy ass at that time, but i did better and just never used discord again

I didn't know you could that, i had that account for like 1 week and honestly still don't know and sincerely there is so many weird shit in Discord servers that i don't want to look at those spaces and be involved with anything anymore. I also don't live in US, so i don't know what kind of authorities should i contact in those cases.

You know your common messaging app? Imagine that but each server has individual chats that the subject may vary, and it also allowes voice chatting.

Oh so, you made the server before making the site? I'm sorry I tought it was a case of "fan made server, but we endorse it".
Seems kinda redundant if we have forums. Unless its a high traffic amount of messaging i dont see it being useful like this site.
All I'm saying is that I'm being criticized for creating a discord to kill these forums when the discord server existed well before these forums were even made.
And I'm also kinda pissed when people gets to decide what others get to use because they personally don't like something.
