You could say the same thing about reddit or 4chan but we both know that's not true. It's a platform, and the way that the platform is used sucks.

To be honest it got out of control in my opinion, i've seen things done that do not represent me. I've always tried to treat people fairly, I didn't always succeed and I'm truly ashamed for that.
I respect all opinions, as long as you don't break the written rules we decided upon I'm happy.

The treatment of some users in that discord wasn't acceptable to me and I can't in good conscience have that going on and do nothing about it. The amount of time it would take to run it as I would like to doesn't exist in my day to day. I can however run this forums much better. So I rather consolidate users here if possible.

Nothing but respect that you make the hard decision of shutting something down that you know you can't maintain with you day to day schedule and where the work you put into it doesn't live up to your own standards. That's responsibility right there.

Nothing but respect that you make the hard decision of shutting something down that you know you can't maintain with you day to day schedule and where the work you put into it doesn't live up to your own standards. That's responsibility right there.

One of my favorite things to do on 4chan is to go to the origami board /po/ and find a thread no one has responded to. Then, once a day every day, I post a horrific insult to the OP until I get banned. This usually takes a few days.

While I do agree that blindly following trends without any critical thinking is no better I feel that even the "rebel attitude" aimed at teens and young adults from the 90's was meticulously calculated by older people trying to appeal to the younger audience by making them feel unique by throwing away conventions.

It's a natural feeling to want to be unique but if everyone is doing the same then nobody will be.

I remember the sentence "Hating trends doesn't make you an interesting person." which sums it up pretty well.

Twitter was negatively affecting my mental health. I was always angry and annoyed after using it even for a while... it likes to bombard you with the most depressing, infuriating shit on the universe.

I can relate hard, it's impossible to talk to people beyond a few shallow interactions because people there are always looking for a petty fight, they'd rather die than concede their viewpoint isn't universal

I had a Twitter. It was alright to the point that I almost considered why people where hating on it again.... until ive met some people. Some of them were okay, meanwhile some... cannot take what I have to say about sandwiches. Plus, the platform was taking away featurez Ive used due to Elon Musk's acquisition, and I've moved to Bluesky. Is it good? Its getting there, but its decentralized network makes the platform a hit or a miss. I remember some Spanish pixel artist on here (I hope they're doing well especially if they mainly speak Spanish which I dont) talking about how hard it is for them to get their pixel art popular like other artists on there but luck isnt working for them, and I believe thats due to the decentralized network that Bluesky has. While I do have a reddit, thats becsuse i just lokk at information when I need to. Otherwise I never touch it. Discord is my home turf and Ive found the goodness that comes with it, 4chan I always think its the next step towards the dark web, and Forums is a hit or a miss.
