Did you have an MP3 Player?

I still regularly try out new MP3 players. Mostly using the Timmkoo Q3E currently, but getting myself used to the Phinistec Z6. Using a phone for music is like throwing a fancy meal onto the road and eating it off of there.

I had an ipod nano that I loaded up with songs from newgrounds and then I left it in my swimming trunks pocket and walked into the ocean with it. 🥲
Hey, I recognize you. Mess with the Lunarians and the tides will mess with you!

My first (and only) MP3 player was a discontinued in 2005 Creative Labs MuVo first generation model with 512Mb storage using FAT16. It doubles as a mass storage media USB device, and only takes 1 AAA battery and lasts about 6-8 hours on a single rechargeable battery.

No screen, 5 buttons, and more than sufficient for traveling with headphones. As long as the files use continuous (non-fragmented) space it plays beautifully.

Good old days of taking these to university and just listening non-stop to downloaded mp3 songs.
For modern usage, I got a Walkman NW-A45 but this right here, this evokes something in me which no other mp3 player can replicate. Far from perfect, far from having any flaws, but I just loved the design and that it nearly ran a full day on a single battery.

Bought one for Christmas after phone's aux port gave up the ghost. Did you know MP3 players are marketed as luxury items now? The higher end of these players are now priced in the thousands - crazy stuff. That said, I only paid ~$300 for this one, a Hiby R4.

I had several. None of them broke or anything, I just bought new cheap ones for increased storage space. Couldn't tell you the brands for the life of me. My boyfriend did just recently get a used Zune from one of his friends. It's kinda pointless, but he likes older tech and it came with lotsa good songs, so can't complain there.

As a small child I couldn’t go to sleep without listening to something, so I had a SweetPea 3. It’s about the size of a brick and you could easily beat a man with it.

Later on I got a proper mp3 player because my phone couldn’t hold all my music. When it broke I just used my phone again when I got a new one, rip

My first mp3 player was the incredibly cute and sexy Creative Zen Micro. It had a whopping 6GB! of internal storage, a lit screen, and fit very snug in an altoids tin.

I eventually upgraded to a Zen Vision M which had a full color screen and 30gb of storage - but GOSH was that thing hideous!!

I had one of those, these existed from different brandings with minor differences:

I really really liked the Formfactor.

When going on Vacations, i use this old Xperia, it has Winamp ;D
Sad that Winamp isn't working on my modern Device, it is really really good.

Never had an mp3 player, but I'm thinking of getting one.. Mainly because it sucks to have your theme music skipping on bluetooth.

I have found that old MP4 player.

I kinda like non-iPod players from around the year 2010.

Do they still make MP3 players with plug-in audio jacks?
You mean 3.5mm? Most still do as it has been standardized for a while.
4.4mm usually available on mid to high end players, while 2.5mm are slowly being phased out now.

I know it's popular nowadays to spit on Apple (rightfully) but we can still agree that the original iPods were quite class.

And I miss that glossiness they got back then.

PS: To stay relevant on the subject it belonged to my father but I could use a bit of it.
