Dead game series you'd like to see come back.

I wish Metal Gear would come back. A sequel to Rising, or a new mainline style game would both be welcome. They don't even have to continue the plot of the previous games. Just give me silly anime drama/cutscenes and great levels/gameplay.

A real F-Zero follow up would also be welcome. The series peaked with GX, and it's a real shame it was never iterated on past that. I agree that F-Zero 99 doesn't count.

There's too many for me to count but off the top of my head I'd like to see another:

Drakengard
King's Field
Deception/Kagero
Dark Seal

How about some Chrono Break?

Chrono Break original concept was recicled for Final Fantasy Dimensions II, confirmed by one of the three Chrono Trigger directors, Takashi Tokita:

Hmmm about series I want to return... I dunno, normally I let go easily, but Rockman X8 ends with a pretty big cliffhanger and I want to know what the heck is that thing shining in Axl's chest.

Given the news of a number of long dormant franchises being revived, I was wondering if anyone has other games series they'd love to see come back.

For me, after seeing Ninja Gaiden and Onimusha coming back, I'd love to see the Samurai/Ninja momentum continue and get a new Tenchu game. I know Sekiro started development as a Tenchu revival, but I wanna see Rikimaru and Ayame get a comeback.
I froth at the mouth, waiting and biding my time for anything Tenchu related, man. I dunno how everyone else thinks about it, but I think that the two best games of the series is Wrath of Heaven and Fatal Shadows, actually peak

I'm wondering, was FF-Type 0 meant as a non FF game at first? I know that Xenogears was FFVII before VII was made.

Breath of fire- Maybe nostalgia is Blinding but the first four instalments each offer such unique mechanics outside of combat (shaman, karn fusion, bird lol) and a story both thought provoking and engaging that left me always wanting to know what happens next especially two, quite possibly the best intro hour to a rpg ever! Not to mention the infinity dungeon town (for sake of spoils I won't say) has the best town music I've ever heard and blows your mind with story revelations built up over one tough ass game that more less make it all worth the effort. As a eleven year old it was nothing short of amazing and awe inspiring to my young mind.

Still waiting for a Suikoden VI set in Harmonia. I hope they HD remasters sell well enough that Konami actually decides to make another mainline entry after almost 20 years.

Wild Arms and Shadow Hearts are at least getting spiritual successors so hopefully they end up good.

I'd like to add motorstorm there.

Xenogears wasn't FFVII exactly - it was a concept that was presented when the team was brainstorming ideas for FFVII, but it wasn't accepted and then was used in another game. Same thing happened with other ideas - the "New York city in present day" concept by Hironobu Sakaguchi was used for Parasite Eve, while the Witch Edea was used in FFVIII.
Type-0 was always intended to be a part of Fabula Nova Crystallis, but the project changed focus during the development, its original name was Final Fantasy Agito XIII and was going to be a cellphone game.

The development lore behind FFVII is almost as cool as the game itself. We need a full-blown documentary on it at some point. Get Werner Herzog on that bitch

IK this isn't the question but I don't think Klonoa should come back tbh, it’s got a perfect ending with 2 imo.

Maybe something to do with the GBA title but that’s really it.

I wonder if with the series we might get a new Twisted Metal...

But I'd love to see a remake or remaster of the Heretic and Hexen series. You can't even buy Heretic II anywhere.

Dino Crisis in the style of RE7 would be great, an uncut and unaltered remaster of God Hand would be killer, a sequel or reboot of Wet would be awesome, more Condemned of any sort would also be appreciated. But most of all I want anything with the Nemesis system, if WB execs would stop being absolute asses

Very many but this is not the right time because the sagas and classic games are deformed to please the current average gamer and I don't want to see my favorite games deformed to the current standard.

Killzone (Long live to the Helghan Empire!!)
Burnout
State of Emergency
Duke Nukem
Strike Series
Outrun
Wipeout
Mercenaries
Sunset Raiders

System Shock
Bioshock
Deus Ex
Prey
Duke Nukem
Quake
Crackdown
Motorstorm
Full Auto
Wipeout
OutRun
Ridge Racer (It's sad that Unbounded was the last console entry. That game sucked.)
Burnout (Didn't Paradise sell really well? Why do they continue to make bad NFS games instead of making a new Burnout? It doesn't make sense to me.)
Resistance
Half-Life
Dead Rising
Lost Planet
Shadow Hearts
NiGHTS
Panzer Dragoon
Kane & Lynch (This franchise never lived up to its promise. I love the vibe and concept, it just needed to be more refined and focused.)
Splinter Cell
Rainbow Six Vegas
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
Saints Row (Only if it's like 1 and 2.)
Sly Cooper
TimeSplitters
True Crime/Sleeping Dogs
Condemned
F.E.A.R.
No One Lives Forever
Red Faction
The Darkness
Riddick
Overlord

This channel is making very in-depth videos about FFVII development. https://www.youtube.com/@LastElixirProductions
Normally I HATE videos and hate youtubers in general, but those are very well researched.

10000% prototype, that game seriously needs a part 3. Thow what makes me kinda happy is the fact that it has been leaked that it will come. The problem is that it has been leaked and not confirmed.

Got a few.
Breath of fire
Castlevania
Suikoden
Arc the Lad
Lunar
Metal Max (no i don't mean metal dogs)
Wild Arms
Kinda would like to see a Xak game again
Single player Phantasy Star
Shadow Hearts
Legend of Legaia
Grandia
Deus Ex
Chrono Series

Off the top of my head.

I wouldn't mind seeing Duke Nukem come back, even if it's in an Ion Fury style throwback game.

Wild Arms
Single player Phantasy Star
Shadow Hearts

I wholeheartedly agree with these three, and Idk if you are aware of them, but the creators of Shadow Hearts and the ones from Wild Arms made a double Kickstarter for spiritual successors.
Shadow Hearts' crew is making Penny Blood, with a small spin-off to get some extra funds. And Wild Arms has Armed Fantasia.

I'm also low-key happy with the small resurgence of Legacy of Kain series.

Yes i know of them, but kickstarter games tend to lack something the original held, hope these 2 disprove that though.

I would love another rhythm thief game It only has one game and it's cliffhanger ending
