Date Thread #2

Yes it does. It takes a man and a woman to make a baby.
? there is adoption /true
besides that, U might be jumping ahead a little.
i mean, U have 2 be compatible with somebody. that's why U date!

That is true, and that is why I want to date the opposite sex, so I can find someone compatible to build a family with.

Why? Why is it important that your child shares your DNA?
It's not a rational thing. Continuing my own bloodline with someone special to me is important in the fulfilment of my life.

Um, the point is you can be in a great relationship with a "non-biological female", adopt kids, love your significant other and your kid.

being "blood" is not a measure of love. despite what you believe.
it's been my experience that "blood" family has been the worst and most abusive.
and there are lots of children who would love to be adopted. and they would love you back. <3

Do you want to understand me? Or do you just want to lecture me because my outlook is a bit more old fashioned?

i understand you, don't worry.
and i'm not lecturing you, just stating my positions on relationships, like U are

Fck I missed the start of this thread, now it's already many pages long again 😭

I could date practically any one "short term", but for the long run it's quite important for me too to be able to have a kid of my blood. Agree it's not rational but it's a deep feeling. Then again sometimes I think it'd be better for me not to have children lmao

Yeah, same here. Definitely not now, I am a 22 year old Aspergic shut-in who's trying to forge a career in music. I'm anxious to go out of my way to talk to old friends and well, I could be happier to put it lightly. But being realistic doesn't mean that I cannot change my faults for the better and I think the desire to be married and having kids helps give me the initiative to do that.

Obviously, there's a lot of steps between me now and me when I do have my own family. Frankly, I couldn't date short term or "explore my sexuality" (which I already know what it is, so that concept alone is silly to me) because it's a waste of time and it'll just make me more miserable. I am still young, but being 17-18 only feels like it was two years ago, sometimes. I am wary about time and how my life will turn out.

oh yeah damn I went back to lvl 3 just noticed

Bro I'm 25 I don't even remember how I got here
The 20s moves too fast bro ,beware

<thinks>
so,
i have a very hard time expressing how i really feel.
i'm not out to purposely mislead or make others feel bad.
*closes eyes/ takes deep breath*
~~
i wouldn't mind going on "dates" with most ppl, whether you are "biologically male/ female" or whatever. that makes no difference to me.
~~i say "i date females", but what i specifically mean is:
i look for ppl to date that have a personality i would like to be around.
"a feminine personality"
~~i'm really not good at reading ppl and misinterpret what they may be saying a lot.
~~i'm really not looking for "serious", "committed" or honestly anything "expectational"
~~i would consider many, many things a "date" including:
--drinking a coffee and just talking
--playing a game online with someone and just talking
--just taking a walk with someone and just talking
<not everyone has money to spend on dates/true > /and lots more.
:point is, "dating", for me, would be honestly just something really organic and without an expectation of being "boyfriend/ girlfriend/ committed" or whatever

i want to take my time getting to know ppl. it's probably not what most ppl would consider "dating".

"hey this person seems nice and cool! i want to know more about them! or, if they don't talk about
themselves much, that's okay too!"/ true
<i'm all sorts of anxiety now, saying all of this. so, i'm not going to fault ppl who don't talk much>
<i've been in some abusive relationships, so i tend to get scared and run away a lot, even if i would honestly date that person/ sincere/ true>

*i hope that clarifies some things*

I think it's a bit silly how out of hand this got lol.

I understand your perspective @nathman even tho I don't agree with it. But also, what rlly strikes me is how the original comment came from Jiggly, who is a lesbian and can't have kids unless she gets pregnant with a man but won't because she is a LESBIAN LOLLLLL

I don't understand how this got so wildly on the topic of "NEED MAN WOMAN TO HAVE BABY"

XD

I mean, I was initially making a joke about the "Rules of the Internet".

Personally I wouldn't mind adopting (in case I wanted a child, which I don't), but I get it. It's a instinct carried by millions of years of evolution.

I have a friend who wanted to go through the natural process of giving birth to her child was opposed to cesarean section, turned out that wasn't going to be an option and she felt really sad about it. But at the end of the day it was the only way. She's still glad her child was born at all.

Turned 30 not too long ago, it moves even faster when you're halfway through the 20s, beware

I don't know what was your friend's case, but it is known that many times C-sections are "forced" just because it's faster, against one's wish. At least it seems that episiotomies are going out of fashion

Didn't knew about that. But I know for a fact it wasn't my friend's case because she had certain health issues. Including the fact that this was her second attempt at having a child born, unfortunately she lost her first one.

I can relate to that, I'm going to be 30 in about two months
