Someone forked the translation and made this patch but the main team still works, so the partial work (this one) is called v.01

For those who don't know: This game was made by the same creative team from Quintet that gave us kick-ass SNES games like Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma. The devs left Quintet after making Terranigma to make a company called Shade Inc, which would go on to make The Granstream Saga for PS1. Both "The Granstream Saga" and "Brightis" are considered to be spirtual successors to the SNES games I mentioned.

A lot of people treat Shade Inc and Quintet as if they're the same company, which I guess is fair considering that most Quintet staff ended up working at Shade Inc, but they are different companies. To confuse things further, Brightis was actually a collaboration between Quintet and Shade Inc. This whole situation kinda reminds me of how the company ARIKA was made by ex-Capcom devs who left the company so they can make their own creative works outside of Street Fighter... only for their first project to be a Street Fighter game for Capcom. Life is funny sometimes.

In any case, I've been meaning to jump into Quintet/Shade's PS1 offerings lately so the timing of this is perfect. A super big THANK YOU to the people involved in making this english patch happen. This is genuinely amazing.

Granstream Saga, that name just brought back one helluva of a nostalgia trip an arpg set on floating islands! Loved that game guess I'll try this one out too.

The rom.hack page has the status as unfinished and says it needs more work, while the github page says it's finished and credits the "original team". So it reads as if someone took an unfinished patch and completed it, basically. I sure would like more info. Did the original team approve, or are we going to get some drama like it happened recently? Was it finished properly, or did some rando just run all the missing text through AI?
Game looks good, I like Quintet and Shade (even Granstream Saga was way better than people say), and if it's a decent translation, it's very good news.

EDIT - Are we sure the patches on github and the other site are actually the same version? Looking at the screenshots, it doesn't look like a finished patch, with that weird text formatting.

The Github repo might say 1.0, but for some reason the
patch version is listed as 0.01 on romhack.ing

I Just finished mine as well. The patch is 0.1 not 1.0 if I read that correctly I made background and the Boot useing AI recreation LOL feel free to use them if you want .

Darn, I just assumed it was 1.0. Kinda dumb to label it 0.01. That makes it sound like it's of an incomplete alpha version and not how it is now. Guess I'll have to fix that later.

Mine was created using Photoshop 2014 and manual editing of art I found online. I've never actually used AI for anything before
