From best to worst:
PS2 - Just a great all around console with a fantastic library, and the last console to not have any modern bullshit before the PS3/Xbox 360 era changed everything. Many PS 2 games still hold up well today and have even been digitally re-released and in some cases remade (Odinsphere Leifthrasir).
PS1 - The games are a bit rough around the edges in terms of graphics and controls, but it's no big deal for those of us who were playing those games back when they came out and are used to that stuff. Some people miss this era. There are some indie horror games that look and play like PS1 classics. Again, we have a fantastic library here.
PS4 - Incredible library and the added bonus of VR games, though the helmet and camera have a ton of issues that made the experience a bit more annoying than it should be. We also have better discs (blu-ray). I place the PS 4 below the PS1/PS2 because it's a modern system with all of the annoying stuff that entails like broken games in need of updates, DLC, de-listed content, the annoying trophy system, games as service BS, microtransactions, pre order exclusive in game bonuses, etc.
PS3 - The console where many annoying modern things started to infect gaming, though you could put a lot more of the blame on the Xbox 360. The PS3 was a powerful system, to its detriment as many developers had a harder time programming for it than the 360 so third party games tended to have superior versions on the 360. The PS 3 totally dropped the ball on backwards compatibility. Another annoying thing about the PS3 was that some games didn't allow you to back up your save data. System had a great library though, like every PS system that isn't the PS5, and nice HD graphics. Also shifted games to blu-ray disc which was a better, more scratch proof format.
PS5 - Crap library (mostly PS4 ports), ugly UI and trophy images, no USB save data back up allowed, overpriced and unavailable for a long time, and that stupid, digital only version, I can just go on and on about what a disappointment the PS 5 is. Worst PS console of all time. I can't believe there is talk of a PS6 when it still feels like the PS5 never hit its stride.
If we throw in handhelds, the PSP was great. The Vita sucked, but largely because Sony didn't support it properly and too much of its library was ports.
