Best PlayStation Console? How would you rank them?

The PS2 had the games and graphics, while the PS1 had great games, but was let down by graphics, imo.

As someone who’s only experience with Sony is via emulation:

PS2 > PS1 > PSP > PS3 > PS4 > PS Vita > PS5


PS5 doesn’t have anything of note in its library, it rides off the coattails of the PS4 so much that they should’ve called it the PS4 II. The console also physically looks corporate and lame. All the swag of its fallen brethren, gone. I hope all of its exclusives end up on PC and PS6 so I can forget this garbage console existed.

PS Vita is second to last cause let’s be honest here, there are barely any notable games here either. Most of them are either ports or untranslated. Even after I physically looked up the library of this system, I can say for sure that there are only like 8 games I’d actually want to play on it (Muramasa Rebirth, Tales of Innocence R, Gravity Rush, Tales of Hearts R, Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, Grand Kingdom, TxK, mayyyybe Luminous Arc Infinity) and the rest are ports or on a better console. It’s dire and the only real saving grace here is how easy it is to homebrew.

PS4 is above it solely because it has more options, but imma be honest, I know next to nothing about this console

PS3 also has a lot of interesting exclusives and really feels like the end of an era with some of the titles.

Then of course you have PSP, PS1, PS2 and there’s nothing negative to say about any of them

Killzone 3, Uncharted 3, house of dead,COD,crysis,gow,ico,gt5,motorstorm,ridgeracer,wipeout erc. with twin move controllers/twin guns or shootergun, ITS WAS 3D AMAZING!

PS4PRO VR was 3DVR headset fantastic with also dual move controllers, but much bothersome setup, less relaxed/low resolution to ps3 3dtv.
Resident evil 7 was superb fantastic best horror game exp ever.

No hate for 3, it was a tough call and someone just has to be at the bottom. I have never touched a ps5 in my life so I wouldn't know where to place it.

I must say, overall feel of the games are very similar for 3 and 4 but the leap in visual fidelity is pretty huge just for the resolution bumb imho.

For me the PS2 might just be the best console of all time period. So I guess its something like:
PS2 > PSP > PSX > PS3 > PS4 > PSVITA > PS5
I'm sorry PS5, you got less games than Vita.

Judging from the size of my physical library...

The only made-for PSP game I liked was Metal Gear Ac!d 2. Otherwise they were like trying to play a PS2 game while missing a joystick and two buttons.

Most people would and already posted PS2, PSX and PSP as their respective top threes. The rest are pretty much irrelevant even with a few number of games backing them up, because their libraries are absolutely pitiful in comparison with few to no actual exclusives.

Hmm, personally speaking as far as how the lineup is to me:
PSX > PS2 > PS3 > Vita > PS4 > PSP > PS5

Now.. don't mind me about the PS5 placement, I simply just don't have one, and only very recently have I given it any thought to get to one finally

What do I think of the actual consoles themselves and how i'd rank them?
PS2 > PSX > PS4 > Vita > PS3 > PS5 > PSP

Well It's true that the VIta it's literally backwards compatible with the PSP, but I really love how the PSP looks. So, you could say it's a "nostalgia bias".
ALSO, PSP games look better with the original hardware and to be honest I'd pick the PSP library over the vita one any day of the week(even though the vita has some really cool titles too!)

PS1 and Ps2, I like them almost equally, PSP it's quite solid with a varied library(so second place, I guess).
PS3 onwards, I have very little experience... I suspect the best of that years is the most famous Giant Enemy Crab from medieval Japan.
