Art dumping

How do you practice your anatomy? Human figure drawing? Do you use anime as reference?
Mostly from figure drawings, cosplays etc, i usually do lots of drawings from my head or do tutorials as study practice.

That one is from memory

Reference drawing is top notch practice for anyone trying to level up imo. Last year for inktober I did basically a whole month of study, and the time I spent on figure & gesture drawing was invaluable.

Combining studies with drawing from imagination is what I'll do. Alternate between both. Getting the knowledge about the body is important and also figuring out how to apply it and where more study is needed. I already know I need to practice more hands, I haven't figured out how to draw them yet.

I draw at my lunch time in pen and paper. Most of the time from memory or from references i find around the internet.

Holy these are really interesting to look at. Nice share!
I never share my study stuff, but just as a reference on what i do in my study time. I fill an entire page a day. whatever i think im struggling or something i never drawn before i fill a page of it.

This is good stuff, thanks. Gives me an idea on how to practice. I have a book called "Anatomy made easy" and I'll combine studies from that book with some exercises like these.
Dont be afraid to draw them exactly on the book 500x then draw it from memory 500x after. Engraves into the brain easier. At least for me.

What’s a character you’ve struggled to draw before?

500 times?!? Damn, no wonder you are so good. lol. But yeah, I need to up my practice reps.

well 500 times is excessive, but enough times where your brain is comfortable on drawing it.

i would say anything with odd proportions like One Piece, but once you break it down its really simple. One thing im currently struggling is drawing vehicles, at least cartoonish ones.

This sounds like a really good advice, I should try it someday

Not comfortable posting my art in public though so I’m just chatting lol. I’ll probably dm it to anyone’s interested though, if I remember.
