Anyone know the first ever game they ever downloaded as a ROM for an emulator?

For me it was Super Mario RPG.

I was watching a video by Blaine Lockhart regarding how to jailbreak a PS VITA. When I was younger, I wanted to do jailbreaking with other electronics, but I never had much time or think that I was technologically competent to do so. Now fast forward almost just a few years ago, I learned how to do it and in the process learn how to get one of the Nintendo 64 emulators working on there.

Just curious if anyone remembers is all.

Nice choice. What's funny is that I remember seeing cartridges sold on AliExpress where they had a lot of Pokemon games being sold as ROMs.
Ha. Nice! I actually only got Crystal because I was introduced to emulation as a whole by buying a color-coded diskette containing Yellow (plus an emulator) from a classmate.

I can't quite recall the exact game but I know it was from qualityroms.com and I used zsnes. I want to say it was either actraiser or Kirby superstar. Anyways, qualityroms is a huge nostalgia rush for me and I love being able to go back and read their dimwitted banter reviews from time to time. Ohh the memories.

KOF94 for the Neo Geo..... On a 54k connection at the university as internet was not available everywhere back then in my country. Was playing it like crazy and got good at it on a keyboard. Good memories :)

I think the first time I used an emulator it was a DS one, and I already had a ton of roms downloaded to use with my R4, so I went with one of those. It actually took until my teenage years to learn of the existence of emulators, but once I downloaded my first I instantly became a rom hoarder lol.

Hamtaro or something for SNES, but that would not be that I downloaded it but got it from friend and carried it home in my MP3 player or he let me have the same CD He got them from etc. Must have been Hamtaro Ham Hams unite for GBC fairly surely, Chrono Trigger or FF 2/4, FF3/6.
Ironically enough still to this day I have only finished FF6 once.

For me it was Pokemon, don't remember wich one...
But I remember to be the first person in my school to play Pokemon Crystal back in the 90's. And even for a small sized rom it was very hard to download something back in the day.

Fifteen minutes of praying the modems keep the data integrity.

Street Fighter 2 Turbo on the SNES. I was young and wanted Street Fighter on the family PC and was hassling with the really bad PC port. I searched online and realized I could just have a good version of it instead.

Jurassic Park for the Sega Megadrive, back in 2007-ish?

First game I seriously invested time into through emulation and not just messing around?
Parasite Eve around 2009 and I immediately jailbroke my PSP-Go after purchasing it in 2011 and played ALOT of converted PS1 Games lol

Paper Mario.

I don't remember if it was from download from eMule or some website. It took a few hours at least.

I got Project 64 1.6 from a scam CD rom that alleged to have console games on it, but all it had was emulators and a couple of homebrew games.

I was 10 years old.

I'm pretty sure the first one I downloaded myself was Megaman Zero because it's the one I remember the most. But it could've been any GBA game from that time. I remember the Mode7 monkey eating watermelons all too well.

Bootleg SNES Sonic (the one based off that Speedy Gonzales game) in 2000 something

pretty sure it was pokemon emerald, and for the express purpose of hacking it so i could start the game with a mew lol (and to give the player character pink hair)

I'm not counting the roms that my cousin had in his floppy disk LOL
Since I mean I didn't have internet in the late 90s so yeah ...
I do remember what I did download though on my own in middle school
Pokemon Red ... and then after that ... many attempts to find a proper dump of Mega Man X3 ( looking back apparently that was difficult to find in 1999 o_o )

I don't know, though I remember the romsites i used to frequent around the early 2000, Oneminuteleft.com and something like rpgmaniatikos.
If i had to guess I say Gulliver boy for the snes.
