Comics Any comic-book character that deserves a good game?

An open world Domino game could be a lot of fun if done right.

I'd totally love to play a detective game based on iZombie, or a beat em up based on Ninja High School.

I got a bit of a wish list

Resident Evil 4/No More Heroes style Hellboy game
I love the art style of Web of Wyrd, but I wasn't wild about the gameplay. I want a linear story with HB investigating paranormal occurances in mission based levels. The set up would be that Hellboy goes to spooky haunted places and solves the issue. The missions would vary in size and complexity. I'd love it if you could use the Samaritan, but it'd be limited, likely by a small ammo pool. Setting up staggers for Resident Evil style take downs. Investigation and mystery solving should also be a key factor. Solving puzzles and finding clues among the environmental story telling.

The Rocketeer 3rd person shooter
Zip around shoot bad guys and give'em some righteous uppercuts. NO COVER BASED SHOOTING. I'm thinking the combat pace would be similar to Control by Remedy or 007 First Light where you're always on the move and being agressive against superior numbers. Plus flying dogfight style sections would be a must.

Luther Strode with Yakuza style combat
Justin Jordan and Tradd Moore's Luther Strode trilogy rocks. I think a game would be best spent during the 5 year time gap between the 1st & 2nd comic arcs. Between the 1st and 2nd arc Luther is a monster. A boogeyman to all criminals in his area, annihilating everything in his path. Like a slasher movie villain. I'm thinking that combat would be fast, brutal, and ground based. Like a mix between Yakuza combat and the presentation of the 2010 Splatterhouse remake. More mission based chaos with each level launched from Luther's trophy room

A Rocketeer game that is able to properly adapt the visual style of Dave Stevens would be great. I know it has had a few games but your idea for it sounds like the best approach to take for making a game for this character. Dark Void seems to be closest to a Rocketeer game that I could think of but that did have some cover based shooting.

- Xenozoic Tales / Cadillacs and Dinosaurs

I want more of an RPG of it because there is already a TTRPG that has an established system and a setting that is still open to add own stuff into it .

-Slaine
1000215316.jpg

AD2000s rather forgotten Comic series that is embedded in celtic folklore and is awesome on its own . Make it an Action-game ala original God of War trilogy or more like Castlevania 64 big explorable stages and an improved combat system that makes you feel like slaine .

-Elric of Melniboné
1000215314.webp

While it is more a fantasy book series , it has alot of comics too and i would like to play an adventure as the Weird white wolf himself . Something akin more like the original Onimusha-series and the same level design approach like i said with the Slaine game . More grounded but still spectacular with fights to survive and not to style over .

-Devilman

Devilman was already a badass manga-series and it would be great to have a game more like Ninja Gaiden . Fast and brutal gameplay with mechanics that you can use your enemies as temporary weapons like Nero does in DMC 4 and 5 .

An Onimusha style Elric does sound like an interesting approach. Most Elric fans I've come across seem to lean more towards wanting an open world game where you can explore the Young Kingdoms. Though it would be interesting to see how the magic system would work in an Elric game.

Exploring the young kingdoms in an openworld sounds great at first but that tends to explain too much lore that is shaded with mysteries and the elric stories are more about the adventures which he goes through while stormbringer , his heritage or the gods throws at him with conflicts and twists that he isnt prepared for . It makes the world a generic dark fantasy landscape to traverse with the lack of aspects which made this world so hostile , dark and cold from the beginning .

But thats my two cents .

Yeah I would agree with you there. I can understand the appeal of wanting to explore that world but I personally am just burnt out on open world games. Also would prefer it to not be a soulslike.

+Garfield could qualify
-But Garfield had games already
+The thread said GOOD games

Venom (Eddie Brock)
Sam & Twitch
Shredder (been reading his solo series and quite like it)

dick tracy - a 3rd person shooter like max payne but set in the 1930's

So, I want to see a Lackadaisy 3PS/adventure game done at some point in the style of Tracy Butler's comics with sepia tone accentuated with blues and reds for burning shine stills and blood splatter. In fact, I've had dreams of one before (cross posting the following from another site where I shared it over a decade ago):

...Had another Lackadaisy dream. This time it was about a Lackadaisy video game, which played like a mix of Mafia II and a Telltale game. It had the semi-sepia tone aesthetic of the comic, with things like fire and blood colored. It took place in 1932 in Chicago, and followed Rocky, now a hardened badass complete with trench coat and facial scar, in his attempts to save a prostitute named Mona from the Italian Mob. This was not out of the kindness of his heart- he had ulterior motives, although it was never revealed what they were. It also revealed that several major characters had died, including Calvin, Mordecai and Sedgewick (the latter of whom killed himself after losing everything in 1929, and it was hinted that the Calvin and Mordecai killed each other in a gunfight). Viktor and the Savoy's were definitely still alive, and the latter two even shared a common enemy with Rocky. The dream started out with Rocky killing some gangsters about to rough up Mona, and ended in a massive gunfight set in a Hooverville (I don't remember much of the rest). This was apparently only one third of the game however.

I believe he had at least one, but a great Beat-em-Up or Stylish action game could be done with Usagi Yojimbo, yup, that rabbit that appeared randomly on Shredder's Revenge is from its own comic series

Nah, it wasn't random since he and the turtles crossover every now and then.

I'd love to see something done with Moon Knight. And if it could add Marc's personality disorder to the core gameplay mechanics, that would be amazing

Also Wetworks! I would fucking love to play a game based on that IP. I mean it's a bunch of symbiotically enhanced black ops soldiers caught in the middle of a war between vampires and werewolves
