Announcing the Keroro RPG Translation Project!

I hope this goes well and wish you a happy a fun experience! I played this game in japanese when I was a child so I don't know how I beat it, but I'll happily do it again understanding everything!

Not really an update, more of an announcement! The first public build is live, you'll need an untranslated copy of the game, and xdelta, plus the patch in my github to get it running, (use 0.1.1 (linked), not 0.1b, the latter made the game smaller which resulted in a loop on real hardware)

I need real hardware testers mostly, if you find bugs let me know!

Is the entire game translated (except for the tutorial as stated by the github page)? I can test it on my DSi using Twilight Menu and ndsbootstrap once I get access to a laptop.

Progress is slow, we're slowly but surely translating the whole game, I should probably add translation statuses in the next update. v0.1.2 is out by the way! It's really only the beginning story that's partially translated, some items are translated, and some guide book entries too. These releases are mostly to gather feedback about translations and to catch any bugs on real hardware.

Yet another update! Patch notes on the release page as always! Not a bunch of changes and no story updates, but we did make another breakthrough! Now I can translate descriptions! Slowly but surely it'll be fully translated and I can't wait to finish it up for you all! Updates are sporadic but rest assured I work on it as much as I can!

Very nice to see this still ongoing! I played the original game a bit using a another written translation, only to realize (probably?) That around the the last 15% of the game was missing from that guide, so the entire ending part of the game was not translated xD

Wishing you all the best with this! If you need some testing or any help in general would be glad to help in anyway haha

Also this is the guide I used for the story parts, might be useful?

Sooo excited for this project, created an account only for this haha

Happy New Year guys c: little bit of an update. Nothing new for the translation yet, but it isn't abandoned I promise. I recently became employed again so I've been focusing on that for now, life things and all that jazz, I'm hoping to work on the translation bit by bit when i have the free time to do so, I can't devote large portions of time to it anymore like i could at the start :c

I'm happy to see so many people interested in the project and I hope I won't let you all down.

Did you reference this partial translation project at all? Cheers https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/Tales_of_Keroro_DS_-_English_Translation
this partial translation is why i started it actually lol, I was fed up with the game being abandoned so i just started doing it myself (this is the same reason Netslum Patch exists for .hack//fragment lol)

I may see if i can get permission to pull the tutorials If they managed to get the ones I've been having issues with translated

Thank you for giving us an update! I hope the new job is kind to you, looking forward to the full release
