Indie An Excuse to use the "INDIE" prefix, let's describe EVERY Indie game ever...

Ever played One Step from Eden? It's a great MMBN inspired game while putting it's own twist on it. I got all the achievments in that game and thoroughly, really loved my time in that one.

Then there's its sequel: Duellists of Eden which is all about PVP goodness if you're into that stuff.
That's excactly why i said i've only found 2 indie game with MMBN battle mechanic '>'

A game with ps1 graphics
I want more games with a Sega Saturn aesthetic (with checkerboard shadow) or N64 one with blurry textures.

And before that it was NES "8-bit" and Super Nintendo/Genesis "16-bit", all while breaking immersion with modern aspect ratios and effects because, fuck it why not? The aesthetic only matters when it's easy.
Widescreend doesn't bother me if there's an option for 4:3 because that was a technical limitation and nowadays people love native widescreen with decompilations and romhacks/mods.

honestly the only time "reinventing the wheel" works for me is when an indie goes, "in this game you are going to shovel dirt.... thats it, bye".

but then it succeeds and then you are shoveling sand, you are shoveling cement, you are shoveling dirt but you have tech tree full of nonesense to make you think there is depth!

Post-Modernist JRPG/2D Plataformer fusion with metroidvania and roguelite elements with humor inspired by Earthbound and late 2000s internet comics and deep lore that can only discovered by scouring through the game files and sending an e-mail to the developer's mother
