Live Action About recent tokusatsu streaming sites takedown

I usually download the show from the fansubbers' sites and only recently started streaming because my storage is full, but a few days ago the streaming sites, that is tokuzilla and zokaj, are gone.

If we put aside the fact that they "stole" contents from fansubbers, it's sad to see them gone, because in a way, they helped me enjoy the shows. I know that there will always be new replacements in the future but what surprised me the most is that, apparently, there are only 2(?) sites that focused on tokusatsu (the sites i mentioned above). I always thought there are a lot of them. I didn't know tokusatsu is this niche.

I made this thread just for expressing what's inside my head, and not to complain, sorry if this thread is weird.

You can share what's your favorite toku shows or anything related to that here.

Tokusatsu still thrives, you just need to know where to look. I can DM you a website or two to get tokusatsu, I don't think it's wise to publically discuss these things on the forums itself.

Ironically though, there's a lot of Toku on Youtube, a surprising amount all of it.
TokuSHOUTsu has uploaded a very healthy catalogue on there, and a lot of channels have the entirety of Ultra-Q to Return of Ultraman as far as I'm are on there. It's where I watched all of it honestly. Hyper Agent Gridman is on there too. It is sad to see tokuzilla go down though, it's where I was able to watch Varan the Unbelievable.

They lied about having Kousoku Esper subbed though.

I never really minded that aside from KissAsian where they tried their damndest to make sure that everyone thought that they themselves subbed it. Subs are free and meant to be shared

Problem is that they only sub a handful of episodes in English and then make the rest completely unavailable in the US. Tubi has a good amount of classic Toku (mainly Sentai and Ultraman) on their platform, but I don't think it's available world-wide

It's frustrating to see, but it was also inevitable, given the current resurgence in popularity Kamen Rider is seeing in the west.

Granted, it would help if people would fucking learn to follow the first rule of Fight Club. Far too many people openly discussing where we watch this stuff, it's no small surprise that Toei's legal team would eventually sniff them out.

That being said, even though I do torrent a large chunk of what I watch, I wouldn't mind having a streaming alternative, if'n you'd cut a brother in on that action...

There's unfortunately a large portion of the community who don't care about Showa and early Hesei era stuff. Which is bonkers to me. For a long time there was just a general lack of interest in it, especially from fan subbers

I started Tokusatsu from the Heisei era with Gridman. Went my way backwards to Showa with the first Kamen Rider and the Ultra series.

I love the Showa shows, there's a good splice of dark themes that feels reminiscent of the wartime Japan went through. I look forward to seeing the qualities of all eras frankly.

And yeah, i still can't find anyone who ever subbed or had interest in subbing shows like Kousoku Esper.

Oh this is absolutely delightful, If there's two things I love in this world, it's giant robots and tokusatsu.
The only other mecha toku show I was aware about is Tekkouki Mikazuki which aired in the 2000's and I plan to watch that soon.

It's a bit surprising and disappointing that there aren't more Toku in the vein of Red Baron beyond what you mentioned and Red Baron's own sequel, Mach Baron (which unfortunately has next to no subs from what I'm aware)
